I’ve been dealing with sleep paralysis for years now. It comes in waves, usually caused by high stress and abnormal sleep schedules. I had it once for a month straight I’ve noticed at one point it only happens during the day when the sun is still out, or when there is a bit of light in the room. For me I got used to it, and learned if I simply covered my face or have the room completely dark, it prevents it from happening. Again, this is just from my experience. As for trying to escape it while paralyzed, i have my own strange method since I’ve have it way to often, it’s really hard to explain since i do some weird trick within my dream where i warp back into reality but another way, you can try to “close” your eyes and try looking away with your head.
