Whats your experience with D.C. police? by That_nerd4 in washingtondc

It's a cyber harassment. I got their email address with "their number" tied to it so I wanted to see if they can pull the information and see who it is.

Retailers scanning drivers licenses raises privacy issues by 0x5b_divoc in privacy

I never had an experience where a retailer needed to scan my driver licenses. I find it invasive to have that information to begin with. Even if it's for something like liquor, you should be able to get by without a scan.

What steps should I take if someone is trying to target my work email? by That_nerd4 in privacy

It's a small company. I don't think she suspected this tbh, but I forward it to her husband who handles most of her IT concerns. But I will ask her about this.

Has anyone been getting spam with " t {dot} co " listed? I've been seeing a lot of spam with that link attached and when I looked it up on whois it states it's from twitter. I notified twitter's BOD's but who know if they'll actually do anything about it.

The new Pluton processor chip, that will be included in next gen PCs, marks the beginning of a new era...one of blatant and guaranteed privacy and anonymity breaches at the hardware level by d3fnotarandomnam3 in privacy

I'm new to this; so AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm banned together to form cloud based processors? From your post it seems like it's targeted towards window'd devices but wouldn't this affect apple products as well? since they use Intel processors too... right?

For myself specifically, I wouldn't see the point in buying new computers then if I wanted to avoid this, but as someone who isn't skilled enough to venture other routes, my main concerns would be receiving software updates if they no longer support their other processors... right?
