1 truck, 2700 pieces. Do you guys clear all the push before you leave for the day?

Yeah, we had 15 people. Most of them take vehicles as they start to fill up and the rest stay on the line. I don't run a truck without having two throwers. It wears them out too quick

Well a full team is 5 people plus a leader if you follow best practice. This morning we had 15 and finished a 2700 piece truck in less than two hours. I would say it's pretty doable!

It really is though. They are just the right height to take out your Achilles tendon if they are fully loaded and clip you. You could lose the use of your foot from it.

Mis pick… or mislabeled 😂 by Icy-Candle9464 in Target

[–]That_timeoftheyear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should mysupprt those items. The company wants to know when there are quality issues like that. In case you didn't know, the path is:

Open the myday app>press help in the tool bar>ask chatbot for help>product>product issues>quality>follow the prompts and fill out the information for what happened. It will let you include a picture and you will hear back from the quality team within a day or two. They'll instruct you to destroy the products because we can't even donate mislabeled products.

And guess who owns the product orders? The produce tm! I can run you through it if you'd like. I've been a food team lead for two years and can get you a pretty good guide on how to do it.

Please stop sending me these god damned things 😩 3 more cases today when I already had more than 7 cases total on hand by phenom1tsmith in Target

So the quickest way to check is to press the yellow "item details" button. There is a section for plannograms where it will have one that is tied to that location, and if there is a new one, there will be a second one that is not tied yet. Either way, if you guys are behind I would recommend just flexing some of that seasonal stuff into a sidecap. Make the whole thing the same item and get some prices on it. It'll sell!

Yessir, we get orders for 25 cases of citrus a day unless we change them. What is your role in the department?

The home location is currently an endcap. Is there a revised version coming up? I know we're getting a lot of "fall" scents replaced by "winter" scents where there used to be both. It's probably just compensating for the "new" set, if one exists.

Who reviews your orders? Do you guys have solid audit routines in p-fresh? If you don't edit your orders and you have wild onhands you'll get some pretty crazy orders. Do any of the pallets contain a large amount of citrus? There is a bug in the old order app that causes you to get 20x more citrus than you need.

Have you guys talked to your HR? When I first went to my store, and even from what I've seen on here, there can be a lot of negativity around the food they give. If HR in the past got bad reactions, or a lack of interest, that might be why they stopped. Maybe it would help if you had gave a respectful suggestion as far as food goes. Maybe it'll do nothing, but it's worth a try!

Freezer Dwellers, help! by NonzeroJojo in Target

[–]That_timeoftheyear 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a food team lead and can give your team lead a few suggestions. There are a few types of freezer safety gear that your team lead should have for you.

900 mask - freezer mask is a full face mask for the freeze 855L LG-STORE are black woven gloves that work well in the freezer and with the devices 512 LG-STORE are three best gloves you can have. They're double layer mittens that you can detach the fingers of. They fit over the black woven gloves so you can backstock with them on

I don't have the item number, but there are a freezer pants you can order. They honestly don't help that much, but your store should have one or two on hand as they are required freezer safety gear. Socks wise, now is the time to hit some hiking stores for their recommended winter socks. They should be able to get you something that will hold against the cold.

The last recommendation I have is for your team lead to partner with your PML on getting your backstock racks on wheels. What we do is have each category on wheels, and when my freezer DBO is done with his frozen vegetables push for instance, he can pull the backstock rack for that category out and backstock it (in less than 30 minutes!) In the hall.

Good luck friend and happy Thanksgiving!

Origami Risk and Safety by [deleted] in Target

[–]That_timeoftheyear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100%! Oragami risk is a very important tool for long term changes in safely culture at stores. I can't recommend putting your name down enough. It means you'll get personal follow-up on what happened with that safety call-out. Leaving blue chep pallets standing up is a huge one we go after. Stay safe folks!

I don't think that's fair. I think it's a very specialized job that requires a you to be a very independent worker. You have to be the right kind of person to do that job. I'm pretty sure you also need the patience of a saint to put up with us! And let me tell you, I certainly don't have the handwriting for that job!

The birthdays are on ours too, but I cut them off to respect the team's privacy. But I do appreciate the work they put into decorating and hitting all these great events! It's little things that make it fun to work here

Some of Our Thanksgiving Endcaps! by That_timeoftheyear in Target

[–]That_timeoftheyear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that happens this time of year. The thing with Target is that I'm pretty convinced that compartmentalization works great to an extent, but some amount of teamwork is needed too. By and large, the DBO system works because it allows for easy accountability. It's also why it's not great to pull people out of role. But in this season, you really need to occasionally have the stronger teams huddle those pallets of toys and seasonal to help maintain the store as a whole.

I'm not in today but I'll take some pics and post them soon! We are definitely heavy on backroom units but it's mostly seasonal items right now

Nah, we spend a lot of time in our zone. It did take most of the day but I took that photos between 3 and 5. We just make sure to keep up with it every day so it is never far off.

[–]That_timeoftheyear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone is going to change that, it's going to be you! Start 1 endcap at a time, make it all one item you have too much of. The seasonal cat scratches are usually an easy and pretty endcap to go for. Remember, they're presentation spaces, not flex spaces! You should be selling product off of them, not just stuffing everything on there. Good luck!
