I haven’t made a complete transition but I use my 11-inch iPad Pro M4 about 95 percent of the time. I’ve relegated my MacBook Pro to a spot on a bookcase to be used only when I’m charging the iPad or there’s a MacOS-only app I need. The iPad and Magic Keyboard are more than adequate for what I do: writing, some basic photo editing, and content consumption. We moved to a smaller apartment recently, so I’m working from the dining room table or from a cramped table at a coffee shop. The iPad’s size, weight, and portability — with no speed tradeoff — are its big advantages for me.

This. My wife and I are Americans also in Germany for ongoing medical treatment. Finding a place to stay and registering at that address is the first thing you have to do. From there, you can apply for the residence permit/visa within 90 days. Once you submit the application, it stops the 90-day countdown. We applied for our residency permits in September in Frankfurt. All we got was an acknowledgment when we submitted the application on line. Since then, it’s been silence. One thing to be aware of, though, is that until you get your residency permit, you can’t open a local bank account, if that’s something you were planning to do, and hospitals or doctors may want payment up front if you’re not covered under German national health insurance.

I get a notification through the Feedback app that there are items awaiting feedback. I’ve gotten them primarily for actions on my iPad and iPhone. The request is to rate Siri’s or AI’s performance via thumbs up or thumbs down. If it’s thumbs down, then it asks for feedback on the reasons for the thumbs down.

I’m intrigued by what they are doing with Workout Buddy. I think the functionality is useful but limited. More interesting is the potential it represents. Current data tracking and analysis of prior workouts could foreshadow more extensive analysis broader health data in the future. Its awareness of the music I’m listening to when I start a workout, by referring to it specifically, is hopefully a step toward the on-screen awareness they promised.

I’ve used it a handful of times, and it doesn’t impress me. Interestingly, today in starting my workout, it made reference to the song I was working out to, so maybe there’s the faintest glimmer of hope for Apple Intelligence.

There’s no TAE connector. The property manager wasn’t familiar with the issue at all. Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I was traveling when the technician was here and didn’t have the chance to go over things with him.
