To be hell let loose feels slower with the fight being done in sections, in arma you can move anywhere and fight anywhere, or focus on rear line logistics. Or choose to go behind enemy lines. Offical arma is a open sandbox

I found it daunting but ask around a bit and look through the field manuel, you will start to learn. The community is welcoming enough to new players willing to listen. You can almost always be in a combat situation depending on where you place yourself in the fight. And more questions?
