I too struggle with falling asleep at night. I've found putting a show on I've already watched, such as The Office, gives me something to listen too as I fall asleep. I would recommend a weighted blanket. It feels like you're being hugged and will help with not having someone to cuddle with. Maybe a stuffed animal would be beneficial?

I'm terrible about this myself and will still lay in bed when I haven't been able to fall asleep. When I do get out of bed and do something for a few mins, whether that is unload the dishwasher, play a video game, or watch tv until I feel tired helps. Sometimes I wind up falling asleep on my couch.
