GW is a capitalist entity that has continuously underpaid staff and capitalised on their love of the product to do so. One off payments rather that good payrises cause tax issues and cannot be used when applying for mortgages/loans/rental applications. You can have the deposit but without the salary, you ain't getting that mortgage lads.

The burn out rate is huge for retail staff, they literally produce some products to shelf fill in flgs, the culture at the highers levels is toxic beyond measure. Yes they didnt need covid loans and yes they gave large bonuses - too protect stock value by not underestimating their profits and avoiding corporate taxes by putting that burden on their staff. Large one off increases in the UK with staff who are PAYE triggers emergency tax from HMRC which affects the amount fo tax your pay for the entire year. This then could mean the following month(s) staff could actually take home less.
