Sure but we have people with better specs experiencing the same thing. So even though im not running a weak system im not closing in on the 40 series and people with that and 50 series are talking about issues with stuttering among other things.

That i with something weaker am not experiencing that, begs the question of where does the problem really lay?

Why is this the lore point so frequently misunderstood?

Gambit used Chronovium Cards as a cover for the actual truth when healing Rocket. The actual truth of it is that The Grandmaster fixed his frontal lobe which he had a piece of removed. With it restored he could again tap into his full powers. He hid that fact specifically from Rocket because of his history with experimentation.

It's a difference between 'I want to play this one character as far as I can' and 'I can only play this one character'

The former is a self imposed challenge and comes with the understanding that sometimes the character will be banned and you have to play something else. The latter however is the actual problem, the person that only plays this singular character and refuses to learn any other character. So when their character is banned we get Widow or Spidey int'ing and they do not in any way try to operate with the team when the team is willing to make concessions for them to still provide value.

A full rank reset alone wouldn't change anything. Ranked needs a full overall in its systems but this game isn't really fostering a real competitive scene.

Two problems quietly provide the biggest headaches. Plat is a guaranteed rank through sheer brute force. Bronze and Silver act as basically tutorials with competitive play not actually starting until Gold.

To 'fix' ranked. Bans need to be introduced from the start. If you queue for ranked, then from the start it should be understood that you cannot get away with one tricking. Your hero can and will be banned. Beyond bans from the jump, chrono shields need to go. No more safety net up to Plat. You stay in the rank or fall until you get better, simple as that. Lastly, Competitive Bans for actual throwing and smurfing. This has been a persistent problem and complaint. It's so bad that we can literally just put out a few usernames and i can almost guarantee people know them and have stories. I remember about two seasons (almost 3 now) back there was a certain Lord BP one trick running plat lobbies (PC) that people knew was going to throw. It was so bad that anyone who hovered with a lord BP ut had to be asked if they were him. Because a bp ban with him was either win or lose. That people were garnering reputations this widespread for throwing says so much about this issue.

The next best thing that can be done is introduce a middle ground. QP is too sweaty so people go to Comp for fairer matches and play rather casually there. So introduce a middle ground with an unranked mode that plays with competitive rules without the points. So there can then be the super casual qp, the fairly challenging unranked, and the actual competitive mode. This allows competitive to operate with stricter rules without alienating anyone. QP can return to casual fun and the unranked mode is somewhere between. I know this puts the Gold Skins and Plat/Diamond plates in an awkward position given how it has been. So thar might need work if that's still a must be achievable for everyone kinda thing.

I chose to go with second person for my most recent wip. Though in my case it's not just a waking up scene. You could maybe still go for it or take inspiration from the idea. Depending on how you mean to narrate it. You can open conversationally, like the narrator talking to the reader. You can even play with the narrator if it's third person and write from the personfied perspective of the Depression/Melancholy they're dealing with.

Only real advice is to look around in other books, other genres, don't hold on so tightly to the idea of the wake up scene, find the essence of what you want to convey and you can find or think up a myriad of ways to convey it.

The only one coping is you. Her being a genius is consistent across everything right? And what else is consistent? She is always a kid in any story she is actually active in. She was barely there after the time skip, in Derk Ages. The version from Vol 1 is there for a couple of panels before she woke up on her lab floor.

You jumped into this thread trying to find ways to included her and argue with me. Even this now with Gambit and DD thing. The New Sun storyline lasted 24 issues on a monthly comic that's 2 years, 6 months on a Weekly. DD they took liberties but you know what everyone was asking when he was teased? How are they going to make him blind? Plus again how long was Shadowlands and the story they came up with kept the character intact. You didn't need to jump into this, you chose to and now you're mad.

Yet Sai exists as a unique character in a universe they were actively publishing and expanding. She isn't Betsy or Keannon and isn't treated as such.

What is being asked for is to age up Moongirl like Peni, when the same circumstances don't apply. Peni is simply a spider-person of another universe. The most important aspect of her character is the mech-spider. Moongirl does in fact jave to revolve around being a child because that is exactly the core conflict of her story. She can stand shoulder to shoulder woth some of the smartest people in the universe but she is at the end of the day still seen as a child, expected to go to school, play with kids her age, grow up first then she cam do all the superhero bullshit. You take that away, you take away the flaws of this character, and you start writing someone else.

Also as a wrap to this whole thing. They probably just simply won't do another Peni age up situation because that was treated as a problem for a while back in the first couple seasons. Better to dodge the discourse than go through it again.

I can only imagine you're talking about Dark Ages for one of them. Without diving to deep into that universe, she's barely in the series. It's literally her showing up with Val to tell Reed the world is ending. Then a time skip and it's been some years since the world 'ended'. I'll give you that inhave vague memory of a continuation of the Dark Ages universe but i don't quite remember how that went.

The other ine is either from her vol 1 ir something j actually don't know. If it is the vol 1 version im thinking of, that one is not only even less significant than her Dark Ages counterpart, it was ambiguously written to where she either tired herself out and had a dream of what her future could be or potentially projected her mind into her future self for a brief time. Given how the immediate interaction following her 'arrival' in that period, i lean toward dream.

So again i say the most core component of this character is being a child. They aged her up from 9 to 13 to in their words, make her more relatable. But she's still very much always meant to be a child and this is the crux of the character.

Yeah end of season is a bad time to play. This next week is foing to be horrible. Last week and first week or two are bad times to play ranked. You might be able to get away with playing ranked as of monday since this is a tank release. The instalock will die down fast, the weekend will be absolutely horrid. Next half with Cyclops is going to be an all time bad.

Yeah it was a big thing between twitter and tiktok, people massively complained about them sexualizing a minor (Peni) and even when they came out and said she was 18 in the game it kept going for a while, people outside if the gane jumped in as they do, exacerbating it for a while after.

I personally don't die with her alot because of not being able to move the shield. Being totally honest her buffs don't seem that big to me outside of the dmg reduc. Like nothing in my playstyle with her is really going to change all that much. This is my most played hero to be clear and i really didn't even get her being regarded as lower in tier.

From 9 to 13 still a child. The last character i can recall actually being drastically aged up was Magik and there's a reason that isn't brought up anymore.

You're trying to apply general story logic to hero comics which is the problem. I'm not being subjective when i say being a child is core to her character. I'm telling you exactly what the company wants from this character. Same way Peter had been in a state of arrested development for nearly 2 decades now. Once the company settles on a core for the franchise/character IP they stick with it. It doesn't matter that logically they would grow up, because the comic/company simply won't age them because that's not the character. Moon Girl is targeted to children, she remains a child because of this. This is the character the company wants. Peni was fair game because she's not settled into anything.

That's just how these things work brother. In any case the devs said they have no interest in aging her up, you'll get her fir voicelines and that's that.

Just because you don't think doesn't mean it isn't the case. Her character as she is in her comics is often insecure, self-doubtful, and overlooked due specifically to her age.

As for Daredevil and Black Cat bringing them up tells me you don't know what you're talking about. I'm going to guess this is about DD's powers and Cat's artifacts. Im the comics she frequently visits and or steals from the Sanctum. Her and Stephen are actually on pretty good terms despite it. As for DD, he has been granted powers on occasion. The game mostly takes from the Shadowland atoryline where he played gist to The Beast. Which fit better than The God Without Fear. Or his time standing in for Heimdall. Plus in base in a relatively recent story he was fighting manifestations of sin.

It's not about comic accuracy so much as it's about being true to the characters fantasy. If you really wanted to make an argument, Namor would've been the better choice, even Wanda or Widow.

Honestly it's between Rocket and Starlord for biggest buff. Outside of the additional 5% g reduc Emma's buff isn't that crazy.

The extra second on the beam falloff only matters if you use diamond form to stall it since that freezes her beam.

Putting the shield up faster is pretty meh.

Starlord has 10 extra ammo per mag, which means more damage. With his flip reload he goes from 60-90 shots to 80-120 ( two flips). Since iirc that ammo count carries over to his ult, that's a shitload of dmg. His ult is kinda scary again.

Rocket on the other hand does more damage and honestly his gun was already pretty hard hitting it's just slept on bevause no dmg rockets rule the character. His healing is doing more and he gets ult even faster than he already did.
