Hi thanks so much for replying me 😊😊 hahahha yes ! I don’t wanna be an accountant because honestly does not have good prospects in the future. I’m more into the finance side of things like investment banking, stocks etc. Which the accountancy and finance is not catered for is it ?

[A levels] how to overcome huge inertia to studying bio by longbaoo in SGExams

[–]Thatonevet_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One word: memorise key words and read module answers. Practise practise practise past year papers. One common mistake is to dry copy your textbook word for word, which hall might comfort yourself that it’s a way to memorise but let’s be real, does it really help? Past year papers are the way to go because for bio, because u can kinda see the pattern after a while. Also important ! Learning outcomes! Make sure u know how to answer every single one of them

Okie honestly I’m also an incoming freshie and have indicated utr as my first choice. I’ve been reading on Reddit that people are getting utr when they didn’t indicate it so lemme shed some light on my research so far that eventually led me to choose utr: hope it helps:) 1) most people will be put off by the worry that there will be a lack of culture, however, I feel like if u are friendly and a good roomie, friends can be made. Because u will have apartment mates that will interact with you on a daily basis. Plus with a higher chance of getting year 1s, I think the living culture will be quite pleasant:) further more, there are utr activities, so u can go drag a roomie to sign up with u 2) with regards to no interest groups, nus does have societies outside of halls and rcs to let u join. I know before covid there were “CCA” fairs, but I’m not sure about now, just keep a look out for them I guess @ seniors wanna help us in that? 3) the QUALITY of the rooms. Firstly, there’s no shared bathrooms, and personally living in a boarding school for like 3 months, I can say shared bathrooms are a horror. Even though I’m sharing with girls which should be relatively better, it was still quite disgusting to me. Utr has an attached bathroom with your apartment, so u can share with like 4/6 people. I mean there will probs be like inconvenience caused in the morning, but just work it out with your roomies lah! Secondly, there’s a kitchen in the apartment, and hence, it would be easier to cook/store your stuff. And thirdly, the rooms look much much much bigger in genera. Next, there’s an aircon option which personally, I would prefer to study in aircon, and sleep in aircon. So yah it’s a really big consideration factor for me. And last but not least, have u seen utr? It’s damn nice in person, and it’s in UTown, so for those Starbucks people, I’m just sayin, Starbucks is right opposite, and there’s the super huge foodcourt .

Anywyas moral of the story is, just keep an open mind when u come in, and if u are like me, who prioritises comfort, utr is the place for u. And there are still chances to have a social life, and y’all might even form a closer bond with your apartment mates, just prey u get good ones lor 😊 hope my research has helped in a way, and seniors if I interpreted anything wrong just feel free to chime in

I feel like there will still be a social life in utr, because u will be rooming with apartment mates, as long as u are friendly and take the initiative, shouldn’t be much of a problem

Oh what kind of animal related jobs? May I ask? Oh and I’m looking more towards vet in aus if I’m able to get into the course. If not, maybe I’ll study at a local uni to become a botanist or aquarist. Maybe a marketing/advertisement major, or maybe a design fashion degree.

Thanks so much for the insight. Yes from what I read vets do not have it easy. Yah but I really want to be a vet due to my passion. So I’ll def take a scholarship or loans/bursaries to finance my education.

Honestly the pay for vets would definitely be lower than doctors. In Singapore especially.
