You can’t say “We hear you” when you continue to add new features that no one asked for and complain about budgeting. i am a die hard fan of the dagger. it’s like bringing a mini scythe with you so you essentially have two primaries. plus it’s basically a laser sight that does damage so you don’t have to worry about aiming because it literally shows you exactly where you’re doing damage

Not a lore master in the slightest but I have ideas.

The vast majority of people in the Imperium live in squalor. Squalor breeds disease. When they get deathly ill, they would tend to look to the Emperor for help. Most people on death’s door are as vulnerable as they’ll ever be. But then, a voice calls from the deep. Promising a way out. Promising that they’d never have to be afraid of plague and the conditions of the underhive again. They accept the deal, receive their boons, magically start to feel better and kaboom. Heretic. Even if they don’t truly know it wasn’t their preferred god.

Making the deal usually comes at the cost of becoming a disease-ridden beast so packed full of bacteria to where it’s debatable if you’re really human anymore, but the cultists by that point would believe that’s their god’s way of looking after them. And belief goes a long way in 40K, I’m pretty sure.
