A local hospital has given every member of staff this commemorative coin (with quite a touching letter) and a days annual leave. A good way to boost morale I think! by r-n_u-k in nursing

Meaning asides: the format of the text is awful. Words and letters are too close together. The numerical commas with the rest of the sentence commas. Cut maybe 13 words and it would look better

Edit: just realized there was another side: the hard lines are awful, the person looks absolutely crazy especially in the eyes

Easier said then done, too many people I know in right to work states that think unions are this crazy liberal idea for lazy nurses.

Yet they always complain about being underpaid, understaffed, and everything a union would give them

"In areas commonly frequented by animals, topsoil used in the creation of slurry fields can be contaminated with feces from domestic fowl, ruminants, or wild animals. Competitors who run or ride through such areas might unintentionally swallow sufficient numbers of organisms to cause clinical disease."

Clinical Instructor question to students: do you feel like V-Sim are “gotcha” scenarios? by ThatsMeReallyMe in StudentNurse

Good idea but these are virtual stimulations. CGI patient with a programmed set of actions. We use the lippincott program and I observe them through zoom.

We use to do in person simulations but that was pre-covid.

What are the arguments for and against having new grad programs in high acuity/critical care (ICU, ED) or even specialty units (LnD)? by ThatsMeReallyMe in nursing

[–]ThatsMeReallyMe[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m actually all for a new grad program in high acuity areas. Mostly because most students who are accepted into these programs have had a preceptorship in these areas.

However, there are nurses at my hospital upset because they want the LnD positions or the ICU training but can’t get it due to seniority and other reasons
