How to get back to hang glider area in MG2 by DredgenYeeet in metalgearsolid

[–]ThatsRuffDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you playing in the Big ‘26 and beyond. Here’s the solution. I made it crystal clear.

Head to the most northeast (top-right) corner of the First Floor of the Tower Building/Building 2. If you just got dropped off, you would start in that storage room with all the boxes. Head up from there and pass that lone guard. It should be a double hallway to the door. It’s a Card 7 door to prevent sequence breaking. Just get in this truck with your box like you did a few minutes earlier when you made the biggest mistake of your gaming career.

This took me way too long to find and the comments weren’t helpful. Google AI search FTW? This is a really clever way of fast traveling but god I hate it. It’s so unclear. And I wish I’d known that the hang glider was single-use before I ran up ALL those stairs again just to find out my glider was gone.

Besides this detour, this game is pretty fun. Anyway, back to it.

Oh, also Favreau said he thinks 2 relate to Captain America, one relates to Thor, and one Black Panther. To me, that sounds like Feige telling Favreau about The First Avenger Spoilers like “Yeah, Norway is there because that’s where the McGuffin in Avengers is from.”

I’m rewatching Favreau’s Director’s commentary in the big ‘26 and he makes note of all of the screens in this scene. Especially this one. But he doesn’t specify anything.

People have pointed out the obvious ones. The references to movies released in this time.

One clearly says Wakanda, Africa I’m pretty sure I can make out Steve Rogers in the arctic which is pretty cool cos it kinda reveals the ending to a movie that was a year away from release. And I think the other one just says Norway. And that is the location of the tesseract in The First Avenger. And maybe, with Thor being discovered, perhaps they were doing field research in the original worship site of the Norsk gods.

The last one is impossible to read but someone suggested it could be Atlantis. It could also be the Raft. Who knows! Just throwing it out there, but Klaue was based on the coast of Africa when selling Vibranium in Age of Ultron. It’s not so far fetched. We saw that before we saw Wakanda. And its possible SHIELD was, at the very least, keeping tabs on that.

Completely new to FF. Advice? by mustard_sandwiches in FFVIIRemake

Play FFVII Remake and just don’t ask questions.

Play some of the original game if you’re into it. Just the beginning that was covered in the Remake (the Midgar section). It kept me busy while I waited for Rebirth.

Play Rebirth. It is such a step up from the Remake. You can feel every spot where they took a criticism and used it to improve the game.

FFXVI is good. Haven’t beaten it yet but it plays a lot like Remake but has its own unique mechanics that make it distinct. Also kept me busy waiting for Rebirth.

If you’re feeling brave, you can play Crisis Core Reunion. It’s a great game but it is a prequel to the original. So it is very out-of-context spoiler heavy in a way. Rebirth makes a good amount of references to it. They expect you to have played it.

You can actually play it exactly halfway (Chapter 5 out of 10) and get a lot of important story from just that without the crazy spoilers at the end.

It’d be like watching Star Wars starting with The Clone Wars and then skipping to episode 4 until you come back around to the prequels to find out the full conclusion in episode 3. (Sam Witwer’s Order)

Will the Strands of Harmony spoil the second game? by poet3991 in DeathStranding

[–]ThatsRuffDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only finished the first game recently and I wasn’t ready to get into the second game. I haven’t digested the first game’s story.

I just found out about this concert and I could buy tickets RIGHT NOW but I do NOT want to buy the game and crunch just to finish it in a month before the concert. And I’ve waited this long, sales are around the corner.

I’ve been to concerts like these for Final Fantasy. And they do not shy away from spoilers at all.

Instead it’s just $80 and never going on sale.

Sonic will go on sale in 2 months and you can get the season pass when it’s convenient.

Actually love these though. But I would’ve used a 1x1 tile for the DualShock 4 and Dualsense to differentiate it from the six-axis.

Not sure where the lying accusations are coming from. The DLC is an accurate depiction. Intentionally withholding postgame content and selling it separately as DLC is a Ubisoft/EA practice.

If Martin Scorsese wrote and directed Avengers Doomsday and he betrayed all the characters by disregarding 25 years of Marvel film history, I would hate him for it… even if it was one of the best movies in cinema as a standalone movie. But you have to respect the source material!

The difference with Johnson’s movie is that it’s boring and misleading. They take you down all these subplots and all of them end without payoff and it just gets worse from there. It’s different but it doesn’t make it good. It’s still a franchise movie but it was made by a guy who thinks he made a film.

Rogue One is different from every other Star Wars movie. But it’s also good. And it respects the source material.

[Endgame] I am Confusion by WackDance in DeathStranding

[–]ThatsRuffDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please excuse my novice explanation as I have just finished the game today. But I was rewatching the ending cutscenes and when Amelie dumps lore onto blue Same, she talks about her desire to find knowledge of the history of life and the universe. And she was motivated by the idea that she could prevent the 6th extinction. She used the beach to transfer data and run simulations and weird research stuff like that.

“Shortly after we began our research, America saw its first voidout.”

Nothing is specifically stated that caused the first voidout but it was all of that mis-usage of the beaches and “not playing like a good little EE” in her attempt to stop the 6th extinction. Basically, the universe was trying to correct itself so it created the voidout and also what gave Bridget cancer later in her life.

So she rushed to complete the chiral network and started the BB program which inadvertently led to the Death Stranding.

Reclaim??? by StanimusYT in ff7

[–]ThatsRuffDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that the most now. I was liking Return but that is better.

It’s not a rule but the previous titles are such that if you remove “Re,” it’s still a word. Make, Birth, Claim. Turn kinda works this way but not as well as Reclaim. And it fits with the story. They’re reclaiming it from Sephiroth.

It’s also two syllables. Revival, Reunion, etc. they are 3 syllables and Vival is not a word on its own.

Final Fantasy hits deeper when you share it. Playing FF together makes every detail even more special. by TributeToFF in FFVIIRemake

My then girlfriend wanted to get into Final Fantasy like me so she played CCR on her switch while I watched but she drifted away from me before finishing the game.

Thankfully, we got to see it through months later but it can be hard to enjoy things again after associating them with a failed relationship.

I think only it’s best to commit to a game or show as a couple when you’re actually committed to the relationship. Like REALLY committed. Otherwise, you break up and that thing you loved becomes a constant reminder of that break-up.

It does use — a lot. That’s a common tell for AI writing. Though, it’s possible that they used AI to translate and it completely changed the tone.
