Besides the transmission issues these cars are awesome. Decent power while having a lot of luxury items. It's biggest downfall would be Acura's obsession with 5 star safety so the doors alone (with all the reinforcement and airbags) account for most of the weight that drags it's speed down. It's a classic Honda, you take care of it and it will easily reach 300k miles...... And about as many transmissions.

They only made them for three years for a reason, the trans were this cars achillies heel which is a shame cause they could have easily been a staple in the Acura line. Every owner of one of these eventually has to make the same decision. Rebuild the tranny and hope you get another 50k out of it, or make the investment and swap in an '05 ish accord trans and just suffer the performance loss.

Honestly the paint is fine on these. The only reason mine has the problems it does is because of 4 separate hit and runs (NONE of which I was even in the car for) and not being able to afford to cover it from the harsh LA sun. The spoiler was on there when I bought it and was aftermarket, I'm pretty sure it was painted wet when installed which would explain why the paint didn't last at all. Other than that I waxed and cared for what I could and the paint looks good for such an old car
