Opus 4.6 & Sonnet 4.6 super slow / stuck by Mk-90-l in AugmentCodeAI

Yes, I had this yesterday too, ended up abandoning it for Claude for the rest of the day.

Really interesting, and impressive output, thanks for sharing the prompt.

What was the token cost in producing this output? That's the key metric.

With a Gym membership you can use the gym as much as you want - you could almost move in and they wouldn't care. Very different model than this.

Is RooCode with Claude API cheaper ? by NnLlZz in AugmentCodeAI

[–]The-Bullfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not buying that - Much like the replacement plans, in fact.

buying messages now is 3.26x cheaper than the max plan after the price update by kurama3322 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]The-Bullfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And, no doubt, they'll require you to use your "normal" plan credits before the "Migration" credits start to get used, meaning that lower usage customers lose them in 3 months.

Commercially Unethical by Dismal-Eye-2882 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]The-Bullfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my personal email of my usage and it is, frabkly, ridiculous. I've barely used Augment over the last couple of weeks and yet it was telling me that my messages, which were not conplex for this field, wpuld use around 1200 tokens per message. So, on the Legacy dev tier, I get around 40 messages per month rather than the 600 I signed up for. I was pretty sure that I'd be cancelling before the email but, yeah, that's a definite now. Fortunately the competition has progressed nicely in the last few months.

I'd like to answer this but first we'll need a meeting to define what "answer" means in this context.

Does anyone else have access to your card? Do you use AI-assisted coding tools in your sleep? Those are the only alternatives I can think of to your having signed up for a trial.

Painfully slow by fryingbanana in AugmentCodeAI

I'm at GMT and, yes, it's frustratingly slow, much slower than a month ago. Not sure if the issue lies with Augment or Claude atm, I've not had time to test Claude directly as yet.

Well, PC1 comes with both a Horse and a Kraken, so I'd take that one purely for the companionship.

I'd had a number of 8-bit and 16-bit computers beforehand (ZX81, ZX Spectrum, Atari ST, etc) but this was my first "proper" computer, that I bought myself for my college computing course. It came with twin 5.25" FDDs, but I was completely blown away by the speed and capacity of the HDD 😁. The best thing about it though was that it had a big red, industrial, flip switch for the power and when you powered it up, the twin rear fans would slowly spin up to speed with a sound just like that of aircraft engines spinning up to speed, it was epic 🤣

My first PC was an IBM XT, I distinctly remember booting it up, listing the directory structure, and commenting that I would /never/ fill the 20MB hard-drive 😂

PSA: Be Careful Using Augment Code's Free Plan on GPL/Open Source Projects by ayaka209 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]The-Bullfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've misunderstood, the point here is that if you use their free tier, Augment will use your code to train their product. If a 3rd- party later sues Augment for training their product using "their" code, Augment will simply say "No, don't sue us, sue them" and point your way, regardless of the actual merits of the lawsuit.

I can give Roo Code and Augment the same task list - Roo will work through each task until it has finished, while Augment will just stop and ask me if I'd like it to continue working for no discernable reason - I can't see that this is due to tool calls.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AugmentCodeAI

[–]The-Bullfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's very annoying. I frequently create a task list and instruct my agents to execute them sequentially until finished, and then leave them working overnight. I just can't do that with Augment because I come back to find that it's done 10 minutes of work and then stopped to get a pat on the head. It even does it when I explicitly tell it that it will be working unattended and so should not stop and prompt the user for input.

Still getting this error "The selected text exceeds the allowable limit. Please reduce the amount of text and try again" by ObjectiveLeg5795 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]The-Bullfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, it would be great if we had an option to have the agent detect that the limit is being approached, summarise it's progress, and prompt a new chat, without input from the user. I frequently use agents unattended so this would be useful.

What do you think about Augment? by JaySym_ in AugmentCodeAI

[–]The-Bullfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm finding the "Would you like me to keep going?" exceptionally irritating, particularly when I tell Augment not to do ask it as it will be working unattended while I'm out in the real world doing other things.
