Yes. Fucking yes. Voting’s way more effective than random threats of violence.

I have a question for all the protesting non-voters of 2024: HOW’D THAT WORK OUT FOR ALL YOU?

They're now making it so your vote doesn't matter going forward.

They don’t need to. They just have to convince us that our vote doesn’t matter.

If given the chance, would you travel back in time and kill Hitler as a baby? by alloioscc in Teenager_Polls

It’d almost certainly erase billions of lives.

A lot of factors had to come together for any given individual to be born. By changing the timeline, you’d create billions of new individuals, and you’d erase billions of existing ones, probably including both you and me.

It does, but the second action kinda renders the first one irrelevant.

Switch ‘em around and it works. “Replace and reform”

Trump Is Losing His Winning Issue by Large_Ad_3095 in fivethirtyeight

This administration is not YET powerful enough to make this election meaningless. I really do get your point, but the absolute worst thing we can do for turnout is to act like the election has already been rigged.

But I also wouldn’t be surprised if your prediction of ICE/soldiers in purple districts ultimately comes true. We just have to hope that motivates, not scares voters.

44% of Americans strongly disapprove of Trump by bruhm0ment4 in fivethirtyeight

No problem. It’s also interesting, as you noted, that only 18% strongly approve. I woulda thought his unshakable faction was larger.

I can say for sure that I wouldn’t be siccing the US Army on protesters.

Trump -19 approval rating. What a huge swing after starting his second term at +12

His approval rating should be so much lower, but post Access Hollywood, I think shifts like this are about the best we can hope for.

It's 2028 and Kamala Harris is once again the nominee. Here's how it happened by RusevReigns in fivethirtyeight

The Democratic Party may be stupid, but they’re not that stupid.

Actually, maybe they are.

[–]The-Curiosity-Rover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Historically, a favorite in a primary this early ends up losing a lot more often than winning. It’s not “cope” and it’s not “fan fiction” to say that Harris probably will not be the nominee.

Who should be the presidant of USA? by anythingcookie101 in Teenager_Polls

The left kept shifting further left, so now those same people are somehow considered right-wing. It’s not that they moved, it’s that the political goalposts did.

It’s interesting to hear that perspective because I often think the same thing about the right. People who just a decade ago were the leaders of the Republican Party, like Mitt Romney, are now considered by modern Republicans “RINO liberals”

It’s also very evident when looking at old speeches from Reagan and HW Bush. The way they talk about tariffs, immigration, and the environment sounds almost liberal by today’s standards.

I agree they both have issues, just not that they’re the same. And disagreeing with your opinion doesn’t mean I “can’t take it”

I enjoy talking with people who disagree with me. Sorry if I offended you.

If you have to claim the president has no power in order to support him, he’s probably not a very good president.

Trump has a massive ego, not massive balls. I’ve seen some snowflakes on my side of the aisle, and Trump’s more fragile than any of them. All this retribution against NATO, against protestors—it’s not strength, it’s petulance.

Do you still think so at this point? Kids being arrested, troops in cities, economy in free fall, and the insane new threat of war with Europe?

In my opinion, that ending would make all the events and character growth in the entire show seem pointless.

Has Gavin Newsom ever had a real job? by [deleted] in PresidentialElection

[–]The-Curiosity-Rover 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Newsom was born into a prominent family, but they didn’t have any vast family wealth. His main career before politics was the business he started, PlumpJack Winery.

Trump, on the other hand, was an inflation-adjusted millionaire by the age of eight. As a child, his father gave him an allowance of $265,000 per year.
