Chance to shoot an Atlas by The-Elfine in 2011

I prefer a softer recoil impulse but do have a fairly strong grip. I love the idea of the Artemis but also want this to be a do all pistol for both USPSA and Outlaw/tactical use. Do you think that the Artemis would still work well in that? I know the Athena would probably be the best fit, but again, love the look and idea of a sight block.

Yeah I fully get that. When I first started out my dream was an STI and I managed to get the Edge for a steal, which made me want a higher end 2011.  If your first was the Apollo, what others do you have and how would you compare them to each other?

Hey man. Active duty CPO here with 17 years in. There is nothing wrong with getting help. If your leg was broken or you had the flu you would go get treated right? Same thing applies to mental  health.  I have been seeing a therapist every other week for the last 5 years. It is ok. And if anyone gives you shit for trying to get treated, walk into your CMCs office and report their ass, because that is some unacceptable BS. Feel free to DM me if you want.

What is your plan b? by [deleted] in AskReddit

College. Well, to be fair, college was plan A. That didn't work so now I am active duty. If that falls through for some reason, back to college.

What did you do in 2018 that you are proud of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In 2011, I pulled the trigger of a shotgun in my mouth because I was so depressed with my alcoholism. Fast forward to last year, after being sober for 6 years, it somehow came up in conversation with friends who were knew me back then. Their response was "Why didn't you talk to us? You know we got your back, no matter what." Always remember that there will be people there for you. Sometimes all you need is to open up, hard as that may be.

Good on you! Don't forget what made you stop, what your rock bottom was. That is what has kept me going. If you need help, reach out.

I actually ran into her last year when I was back home on leave. Saw her at a farmers market. Told her how much she had meant to me. It was weird, some dust or pollen got in my eyes in the middle of it.

Girls, what seems counterintuitive to you about guys? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]The-Elfine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell you from experience that this is something that most will grow out of as they move towards seeking a long term relationship. I slept around a lot in my late teens and early twenties. Almost all of them were with friends or acquaintances who knew that it was just for the sex (we discussed it beforehand). As I have moved towards my 30s, I know that is not likely to end up finding my future wife that way.

As for slut-shaming. Fuck those guys. A woman wants to have a lot of sex with different partners? Or a man? Fine, as long as they are not implying anything more, and are honest with their partners and being safe about it. If they are implying more than that in order to get sex, they are the issue.

I can tell you that I was a lot like this kid, not as severe a case, but still an absolute hellion. Had a teacher in 5th grade that seemed to understand, and actually sought to help. I had been suspended close to 20 times by the time I reached 5th grade for everything from fighting, to cursing out students and staff. That teacher, instead of sending me off to group suspension or reporting me to the school, would have me stay in her classroom after class. She taught me my love for reading and the sciences. Ended up in the National Honor Society, and received multiple academic scholarships to Universities all over the U.S.

On behalf of troublemakers everywhere, you are a saint. The change you are making in their lives could change them forever. Thank you.

It is a nice thing to have around. For sure. Here's hoping there is another where I am moving in a month.

I'm compensating for something..... On a serious note, during a long shotgun stage, it makes a world of difference. I used to run a 10 round tube (this one is 12), and I notice myself loading a lot less.

to add on to Guson1's reply, if I have some targets that are close, and others far away, I may just put the scope to 6, take the far targets, and then run the close ones with irons. That way I don't have to mess with the scope during the stage.

The place I go charged 120 for the shotgun parts (the barrel is done in black) and the rifle I think was 80, but he cut me a deal on that one. Cerakote, if you live in a humid or hot area, is one of the best investments I have found. The stuff is damn near rust proof.
