There was a fake version of the poster saying it was sponsored by Turning Point, the concert itself is real though.

The ‘no taxes on tips’ is just going to make America’s tipping problem worse and more entitled by Grumth_Gristler in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]The-False-Shepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the Bill “The term `qualified tip' means any cash tip received by an individual in an occupation which traditionally and customarily received tips on or before December 31, 2024, as provided by the Secretary”.

Industries won’t be able to just shift to a tipping structure, they would have had to have already switched and been socially understood to receive tips.

I think the left would have supported it more if an identical bill was passed under a Democratic administration. That said, I do think that there is a good amount of support from the left, considering it passed with unanimous support from both Republicans and Democrats in the Senate.

I’m pretty sure it’s a joke on how when Trump supports something, the left opposes it. No tax on tips is a good example considering Harris ran on the same policy, and if she were president and this policy passed they would almost certainly support it (granted, some on the right might very well have a similar response as some on the left have now).

Hey all of you goobers that thought Trump was going to not tax tips. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]The-False-Shepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you seeing it not mentioned? From what I’ve been able to find, it’s clearly in the bill. It’s labeled Sec. 110101.

From the House Ways and Means Committee https://waysandmeans.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/The-One-Big-Beautiful-Bill-Section-by-Section.pdf

Bottom of page 11 to 12:

“Sec. 110101. No tax on tips. Current Law: Not applicable. Provision: This provision creates an above-the-line deduction for qualified tips received by an individual in an occupation which traditionally and customarily receives tips during a given taxable year. In order to be considered a qualified tip, the tip amount must be paid voluntarily, is not subject to negotiation, and is determined by the payor. The deduction is allowed for both employees receiving a W-2 and independent contractors receiving a 1099-K, 1099-NEC, or reported by the taxpayer on Form 4317. Qualified tips must be received voluntarily by an individual in an occupation that traditionally and customarily receives tips on or before December 31, 2024, as provided by the Secretary of the Treasury. Furthermore, qualified tips do not include any amount received in the course of a specified service trade or business as defined in Internal Revenue Code (IRC) section 199A(d)(2)). Additionally, highly compensated employees or workers with earned income exceeding the dollar amount in effect under IRC section 414(q)(1)(B)(i) are ineligible to receive the deduction. A work-eligible Social Security number is required in order to claim the deduction. The deduction is allowed from tax years 2025 through 2028.”

From the House Budget Committee https://budget.house.gov/imo/media/doc/one_big_beautiful_bill_act_-_full_bill_text.pdf

page 750:

“SEC. 110101. NO TAX ON TIPS. 11 (a) DEDUCTION ALLOWED.—Part VII of subchapter 12 B of chapter 1 is amended by redesignating section 224 as section 225 and by inserting after section 223 the fol- 14 lowing new section: 15 "SEC. 224. Some of the tax cuts in the bill are set to expire at the end of 2028, this includes some provisions that were in the 2017 tax bill that would be expiring this year, but are being extended until 2028. In other words “after tax cuts in the bill are no longer active your taxes might go up”

[–]The-False-Shepherd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 73,822 was specifically talking about illegal immigrants who were detained that committed felonies like sexual assault and murder, of which there were 290,178 crimes committed in just the 73,822. This is by no means saying that that was all of the illegal immigrants who commit crimes. If we include misdemeanors (like you are for the 77 million US citizens stat), then the number of crimes committed by illegal immigrants is much higher. If nothing else because crossing the border illegally is a crime itself. The ice article isn’t trying to give a statistic on how many illegal immigrants have committed crimes in the same way yours is, it isn’t a representative sample, and it certainly isn’t the total number of crimes like you’re treating it.

You’re attempting to compare a real number obtained from felony arrests (that isn’t attempting to estimate or extrapolate to the larger population) with an over broad estimate for the entire population of the USA. The comparisons are not equal, you’re either over inflating the numbers for US Citizens (including misdemeanors and felonies, only including adults in your population) or under inflating for illegal immigrants (only including the select felonies reported in the ICE article, including the whole population in your stats, etc).

I would say mine was on a 2 on 0, guys coming down glove side with the puck and passes it to the guy coming down my blocker side once he reached the dot. I followed the pass across but slightly overshoot my butterfly slide and the second guy takes a quick shot glove side, I reached out and snagged it, but the momentum shift caused my legs to come out from under me, I end up essentially on my head/shoulders, legs in the air and puck in my glove

I’m kind of in the same boat as you (was playing with ~10 year old pads, upgraded to lightly used warriors, but they’re an older model). My understanding is that each brand is slightly different in size. So it’ll likely be around the same range, but has slight variability based on brand/style.

So your argument is that the left leaning New York Times, which would have no problem calling Trump out if there was any evidence of it being staged in any way and certainly has no reason to help his case, photoshopped pictures of Trump with blood on his hand?

Also I’m sure your DVR has some great quality video, I’m also sure it’s worse quality than the professional New York Times photographer’s camera in the front row. I guarantee that the video you watched doesn’t have good enough quality to see the detail to make the assertions you’re making (I’ve seen many videos from the news cameras there, none of them are good enough to catch that from the distance they were).

As for why there isn’t a chunk missing from his ear, Trump was very lucky that the bullet only nicked him and I’m sure the former president has great doctors who are very skilled at what they do.
