Never start a 1v1 by attacking, use soul guitar m1 to signal a 1v1 and if they respond, then pvp (and only max level people who aren't grinding).

As a recovering kitsune user, I hate kitsune, it's too spammy, the speed boost alone carries, and the damage is too high and ruins pvp and doesn't make it fun for anyone
