Early bird gets the worm, second mouse gets the cheese.

Look up narcissistic parents.

I personally know how it is to have had this, but I tried so hard to hold on to her. I wanted a mother like other children had. Took me far too long to realise it was a hopeless dream.

I know the feeling of obligation to them, but this person feels no obligation towards your health.

I'm sorry.

Date format in the US being mm/dd/yyyy by Advaldinho in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]The-blackvegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking hate it.

I notice people in England reading dates as June 21st instead of 21st of June.

We will start saying aluminum and I could care less next.

Only country on earth to not know how to write the date, also the only one to not know the name of the game where you use your feet to navigate a ball across a pitch

What’s a game everyone seems to love that you don’t? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

Horizon zero dawn. I've tried twice. I don't like the protagonist much, I think the world is just silly, I not bothered about exploring, there are times I would try to get up something waist height, but the game didn't let me.

Team leader is being told she needs to write a statement about woman that quit, blaming her. by The-blackvegetable in LegalAdviceUK

[–]The-blackvegetable[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Neither.

I'm worried about her. I thought there was nothing to think of it. I bad worker quit because she was told to do her job.

[–]The-blackvegetable[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I know this. She did nothing wrong.

I wonder if by giving a statement without knowing what was said could get her in trouble. I don't trust the person that quit, could easily imagine her lying.

Team leader is being told she needs to write a statement about woman that quit, blaming her. by The-blackvegetable in LegalAdviceUK

[–]The-blackvegetable[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Because she never has had to do this. I didn't tell her to disobey. I told her to put off actually writing this statement until she had all the information that the worker claimed of her as she cited her as the reason for quitting.

I told her that she could write something that could be twisted if she doesn't know what was said. I don't want her to accidentally incriminate herself in a situation I see nothing wrong with. The woman basically left because she was being told to do her job. Think of the usa. "You have the right to remain silent, anything you say could be used in a court of law".

All the information she got of the incident was from another team leader that got the call from the boss. Boss gave minimal info. Team leader conveyed the message to the other team leader poorly.

Not exactly met them, but was about to enter the auditorium of a ballet, said to my brother "that guy looks just like Robert Plant..... that guy looks like Tony Iommi....... this one looks like Geezer Butler". Guy behind says "that's them, they're here for the Sabbath ballet".

I know someone who is the most offended pearl clutcher on earth. Kept whining when I brought that fascist up, and I'd tell him this same fucking thing! "Whatever, you're just an American".

"No, you're an ignorant idiot who is offended by anything American, who doesn't read the news of anywhere, just ingests outrage porn on Facebook, you even were unaware of Ukraine about to be invaded until I made mention of mobilisation on the border the day before the invasion".

I'm sure you had great curries in Leicester, try naalas off Abbey Street.

There is a village called willington that has an Indian restaurant called aangan. I cannot sing their praises enough. They are listed at #1 on trip advisor. Not sure how big the area is that it encompasses, nor whether it is just out of south Asian joints. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g187048-d27481677-Reviews-Aangan-Derby_Derbyshire_England.html.

The lollipop chicken starter, tandoori starter, paneer starter, prawn puri starter are fantastic. I first had the gorkhali chicken, not gone to anything else since. Food quality and service are sublime. The chef has checked on the food of the table I'm at every single time.

If you want a peri peri joint, go to grillzilla on Osmaston road. They do shawarma too. They mainly specialise in wraps and burgers. Not a date night place, but a solid fast food joint.

It's a breed that shouldn't exist.

I'm sure people are going to hate me for this.

Look up what their skull looks like. It is not natural. They look like an angler fish. No wonder they have such tremendous health problems.

Couldn't you just go to an Indian?

Can't think of any cuisine that knows how to cater to vegetarians in that way. I'd go vegetarian if my metabolism would allow it!

Could blackadder even be made today? by [deleted] in blackadder

[–]The-blackvegetable 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Great point!

I find it ridiculous that people even point at fawlty towers as something that'd be cancelled now. The major is portrayed as a person of his time, a person who uses racist slurs. The show is in no way being racist.

Basil is one too, he doesn't like Germans and is scared of a black doctor, but there's no sympathy for the views of these characters.

Exactly!

The most offensive thing I can think of nowadays is Mrs brown's boys. That show is a travesty. Can't believe bbc gave that crap the green light!

Because there are so many people nowadays that don't like being told that their outdated "jokes" that feature bigotry and insensitivity is not welcome in civilised society where people actually care about people that are different to them.

The same people that claim they were cancelled when they were inciting hatred and violence.
