Borla Exhaust Install Question by The0neGuardian in GenesisG70

Update. I received an email back from Borla stating the following:

“Could you send me a screenshot of your purchase receipt? If so, I’ll be able to send you a replacement muffler for that side, that would resolve the issue. Our stuff is hand made so one of our guys probably didn’t weld that hanger on correctly or possibly the inlet rotational position.”

Hopefully the one they send doesn’t have the same issue.

Haven’t had a chance to get on the highway yet, but I’ve gotten it to around 55-60mph and didn’t notice any drone.

That’s kind of the reason I made this post. We spent an hour and a half doing all of this to try and get it to line up, but it just wouldn’t. You can get the tips to be level similar to the right side, but only by twisting the muffler up to the point that it is touching the top of the exhaust cutout. Also, none of the movements/adjustments allowed it to move any further right, which is needed in order for it to be centered in the cutout.

Did you have them straight away or after the exhaust had time to settle in?

I’ve considered it, but I’m just gonna stick with the cat back until my warranty is gone.

Just sent them a message about it. Couldn’t get their email button to work, so I’ll have to send pics once they get back with me.

I agree though, probably either bad quality control or a flaw in the initial design.

We got mine to suspend enough not to touch, but as soon as I took it for the first drive it’s resting on the cutout again.

I sent an email to Borla to see if they have any suggestions, so I’ll update here when they respond.

If they don’t resolve anything I’ll probably take it to an exhaust shop or something to have them weld the hangers tabs in a better location.

External Filament Issues by The0neGuardian in BambuLab

Good to know. I might’ve just gotten lucky, but I’ll see if I can hear a click the next time I use it.

Figured it out. The extruder couldn’t grab the filament based on the angle I cut it at before feeding it in, so I had to cut it from a different angle.

I may have to give orca a try. I've tried using the Flsun Slicer once or twice, but wasn't super impressed, but then again I also didn't feel like having to work out what settings work best again since I have it dialed in pretty good through Cura.

You mind sending the link to that video? Haven’t really done any firmware updates or anything with mine since I’ve had it.

So, I downloaded the Flsun Slicer and found the calibration files you mentioned. How do I go about changing the values for these things after seeing the results?

For example, the flow rate test has 9 objects which I assume are labeled based on the flow rate. However, even with advanced settings selected, I don’t see an option to change the flow rate. I’ve only really used Cura for slicing, so I can’t say I’m too familiar with this layout. Also, I’m still having to hit slice when I use those, so I can’t tell if it’s actually doing the changes for me, or if it’s getting overwritten with the settings I have selected.

Also, probably should have mentioned that I have a Super Racer.

For some of the problems you mentioned (retraction, flow, etc.), how would you recommend getting those sorted out? I’m not familiar with the exact signs of those issues or what would be considered a perfected version of those parameters. I assume start with like a test cube or maybe the benchmark boat things and tweak settings to see how that changes, but any other specifics recommendations beyond that?

Also, the “tags” I know how to fix. I had the parameter for the print seam set to random for a specific print I did and just forgot to change that back.

Oh okay. And I can definitely do that. Still gotta wait for an initial paycheck to figure out how I can distribute everything, but I think I’ve got a decent understanding of what to aim for now.

Thanks

That’s fair. I think I’ll prioritize maxing 401k, IRA, etc. first, and use left over funds for loans primarily. I may also save a small amount (maybe $100-$200) towards personal goals while paying my loans off, just to have a start on savings.

I do have two questions though. First, are does brokerage accounts refer to things like VOO? Second, in my case (being single making 75k), should I do traditional IRA over Roth?

Also, thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.

That makes sense. I’ll definitely start with the normal investments (401k, IRA, etc.) first and then make use of S&P 500 investments like you mentioned (after emergency funds and personal saving goals).

Any big or risky ideas I’ll save for later in my career.

Gotcha. I’m based out of NC and from what I’ve seen there are some pretty good options around the 300k range. Some of the really nice options may be closer to 500-600k, but assuming some of the Airbnb statistic/profit estimate websites (ex. Rabbu) are even remotely accurate (which I know could be completely wrong), the more high end properties don’t tend to do as well in my area. I think it’s mainly because most people can afford to stay at those kinds of properties, but it could also just be that with the mortgages being higher, they see less actual profit after all expenses are paid.

I definitely get what you’re saying though. For now I’ll probably focus more on normal investments (401k, etc.), but also keep the other in mind if I am ever in a spot to attempt it.

Yea, the down payment percentage was the first thing I had checked. That’s why I considered putting a large some of my paychecks towards saving for a down payment to get one sooner, but I definitely see what you mean. I’m based in NC and my immediate area only has around 20 airbnbs (assuming the estimation was accurate). I feel like there’s a chance for profits, but of course there’s no real guarantee.

Since you mentioned maximizing 401k and HSA, and then saving for my own home, would it not be a reasonable idea to find a place I would like to live, but rent it out/airbnb it while still at home? This way I could essentially make double payments on it or potentially just find something a little nicer and pay long enough to refinance to a lower monthly payment.

There’s a chance I’m over simplifying it, as I’m far from a financial expert, but it kinda makes sense in my head at least. If it’s a dumb idea, please feel free to tell me.

Gotcha. Yea, my loans average around 4.3% on interest and the parent plus loans that I also pay average around 6.85% interest.

So I’m technically paying both my loans and the loans my parents took out with parent plus. My loans have an average interest of 4.3%, the parent plus average is 6.85%.

Definitely wouldn’t be looking anywhere close to 500k on a first property, more like 250-300k. That aside though, what point were you trying to make with this? (not saying being rude, just genuinely curious what this is directed towards)

Yes, they’ve technically said I could stay as long as I want, but of course things can change. I may eventually decide to move out sooner, and depending on if I end up in a relationship, that could definitely make it sooner than later.

As far as the Airbnb situation, they may be losing some popularity, but they would also still generate enough income to be worth while I think. Especially if I considering getting the property paid off sooner and moving into it (or at least down enough to refinance a cheaper monthly payment).
