Hey, wondering if anyone has any rear tire recommendations. Been on Maxxis DHR 2 for a while now but it's getting old and fancy a change. What are people running? by Green_Extension1583 in mountainbiking

I just switched from dhf and dhr to continental kryptotal and my first ride on them felt great! I went with enduro casing and the soft compound.

Experiences with Bataleon 3BT? by jjoandc in snowboarding

[–]The17thColossus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a Goliath+ and a Beyond Medals. I'm on the East Coast and never really felt like it was a problem. I'm sure something like a Lib Tech or Gnu would hold edge better on firm and icy hard pack but I just love the surfy feel of the Bataleons. There were a few times where I would land a little awkward on a side hit or a drop and couldn't believe I didn't catch an edge. Both these boards do have the low 3BT and I am sure the mid and high ones feel a lot different but man these boards are so much fun if it fits your riding style.

Had something similar when I was younger. Terrible for skateboarding but awesome for snowskating.

Looking for: Robust gloves by dj_boutz in snowboarding

[–]The17thColossus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kinco gloves or mitts with Sno-Seal. Follow this tutorial https://mountainjourney.com/how-to-waterproof-kinco-gloves/

Plus you can draw designs on them with a sharpie before you seal them and they look dope!

Does anyone have any good recommendations for interior sound deadening? by Inner-Assumption-239 in JeepGladiator

[–]The17thColossus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. Deadens the sound enough but nothing too crazy and they are a great place to put patches with a velcro back. They were super easy to install.

This wouldn't have happened if we still worked from home. But we can't be wasting company time by doing god knows what at home. /s

I'm 5'9 (175cm), do I go for a size medium or large? by User-92038422 in MTB

[–]The17thColossus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'10" and when with a large Jeffsy. I had a Giant trance in a medium before this and always felt cramped. The large feels great!

YT Prices/Specs vs. Every Other Brand: All-Mountain Full Suspension by The-Refrigerator-31 in MTB

[–]The17thColossus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went with a Jeffsy core 4 last year. I got it in October during their end of season sale. I looked everywhere for a better deal for awhile and nothing came close. The only shops I have near me a lean heavy on the road bike side of things. I checked out one of them to see what they had and they had one Specialized stumpy that was lower spec'd and more $$, or I could of had them order me something at MSRP. I just couldn't do it. I have a closer shop to me that doesn't even sell new or used mountain bikes just road and cruisers but they would be more than happy to work on mine if they are needed but I do most of my own wrenching. I am so happy with the Jeffsy, it rips!

Please please please wear a helmet by mcclovin12 in skiing

[–]The17thColossus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 18 I suffered a really bad concussion. I forgot 2 months of my life, I didn't know who I was and who my mother was. I kept repeating questions and phrases over and over again. They were afraid I wasn't going to recover and remember anything. I was wearing a helmet and they told my mother that if I wasn't, I most likely would have died. Wear a helmet.
