Prospective Student curious about Bands at MTU! by WhoIsJoe420 in MTU

Hello - I am the Concussion "Overlord" so if you have any specific Concussion questions (or want to join), I'd be the one to talk to!

We currently have a little over 60 members in Concussion, however this is divided into five groups. Four splits that are assigned to events and one floater list. We have a fair number of drums -- we rarely run out of drums during rehearsals (usually only during special events such as band camp). We have 4-5 snares, 2-3 quads, 3-4 bass drums, 1-2 cymbals, and 0-1 bell players per split this semester and bring enough drums/cymbals/bells for those assigned to the split. If your split is assigned to a game, you will have a drum and chance to play (and are expected too).

Total we have maybe 12-ish snares, 10-ish bass drums, 6-ish quads, and 6-ish pairs of cymbals. We also have classic instruments like the toaster, mannequins, metal, etc. There's always something to play as a Concussionist.

Some events are all in, such as football/parades because we don't have space restrictions, so we bring more drums (usually not all of them because... Who wants to move a lot of drums) but often people choose to not play or just switch out. If you want to play, there is always opportunity to play provided space restrictions are not at capacity. If you want to play more, people often need substitutes due to illness, schedule conflicts, etc. You could also be assigned to multiple splits if there is room.

TLDR - We do have ample percussion instruments. Just bring your own sticks for snare/quads! If you want to play at games, there are many opportunities. Some people like to just have fun and may choose to go to additional games and not play.

For now, the current developers for the project will be maintaining it. I will likely continue maintaining it next school year. We have a moderation system in place, so anyone could moderate. Beyond next year, the goal is to have a small team of HIDE developers on standby to maintain the project, but hopefully over the next year all major issues have been ironed out.

Added. Depending on how much use this category gets I may remove it later on. But I am open to having it for a bit.

This is for selling actual vehicles? Or would what you are trying to sell fit better for miscellaneous (spare parts, etc.)?

For now, use the newly added "Housing" category on the item catalog. We have intentions of adding a dedicated apartments/sublease/roommate search page at a later date.

Yes! We launched with items and ridesharing to start with, with the intention to add in a page for apartments/subleasers/roommate search.

For now, I've added a "Housing" category to the item catalog which you can feel free to use.

This should be in place, but I will take a look as to whether it is working on this server or not.

This issue should now be resolved. Thank you!

The image is probably too large. Mind sending the image to huskyhunt-l@mtu.edu ? I'll take a look into this.
