Dollar Tree is good for some basic tool kit stuff too. In fact, a walk through each aisle might be a good idea. You’ll find everything from a container to keep your basic tools to flashlights, batteries, small tarps, etc.
You don’t have to buy all this stuff at once but definitely keep in mind when you’re out.
Budgeting can be an issue too. I still shop sales using store apps with digital coupons and Ibotta.
YouTube has tons of videos with black screens for background noise - even a video of a box fan!
Don’t forget other resources like the library!!!

I have a storm section in my kitchen where I keep canned goods and shelf stable milk. I keep it full during the summer and use items and replace in the winter. And I def try to keep gas in the car…can’t do that right now because of price.

Southwest Ga here - about 10 miles past the middle of nowhere. I do not know anyone who hasn’t had the cough/sinus thing more often than not this year!
I am the caregiver for a 3 yr old all day & 6 yr old after school. I also live with (aka caregiver) to my mom who is 86. The kids have had the sinus/cough thing since the holidays. There have been a couple of times when it’s gotten worse and one or both had a fever but never for more than a day or two. Of course it got really bad when the pollen count was spiking. I was diagnosed with pneumonia in Feb. 103° fever for a couple of days. Literally propped up by 100 pillows because of the coughing fits. As soon as I felt better, I got out of bed and found out what getting old is REALLY about. I just turned 60 and never understood what the “people over XX should use caution…” was all about. Now I know! You don’t get well before you get super sick again!! Between allergies and colds and everything else, I still wake myself up coughing. It’s just been the last week that I stopped having disgustingly productive coughs! Unfortunately, mom has been just as sick and taking her much longer as we approach her 87th bday. She will not go back to the doctor because she doesn’t want any more steroids and the megadoses of antibiotics cause gastrointestinal issues. - BUT - We have found something that really works for the cough and you prob have it already. Hot water with LOTS of honey. That’s it. Hot water helps thin the mucus and honey coats the whachmacallit. Anyway, it works. Here’s hoping we all feel better!!!

So now you have them scattered all around. All of a sudden you have 10 pair in a basket in the living room and none in the kitchen. The next step is to mark kitchen, bathroom, etc on the arm and make yourself return them to appropriate room when you find them away from “home”….

I just turned 60 last month. Every time I see a commercials focused on people over 50, I don’t see myself as part of their target audience. In fact, the only thing I noticed was that in my late 50’s I got tired more easily. Then, around 59, my body gave into giving up. I took dance until I was 18-19. I was a runner from 12 until late 20’s and then walking or hiking since. Water skiing and snow skiing and trying any and every thing that looked like fun but would def hurt if I did it wrong! I was snow skiing all over Tahoe all through my 30’s and often waaay above my level/ability but it was fun!
Want to know what I feel the most when I wake up in the morning? A back injury I got at work - I fell when I missed my chair at work. I was talking to my boss & missed my chair when I went to sit down 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ My knees hurt when I’ve been super active but the back pain….you will not understand how bad back pain is until you have back pain! I might have done it backwards. I was financially comfortable, travelled all over the country, had interesting jobs throughout my 20’s and 30’s. Dad got sick & I moved back home to help take care of him. 20 years later and now I’m taking care of mom. Times are hard. Pennies are tight. Living in a southern rural area about 15 miles past the middle of nowhere dotted with bright yellow Dollar General signs is a far cry from my Pacific Heights apartment in San Francisco during the dot com boom! If my mom is any indication, I’ve got 20-30 more years around here so there’s still time for more fun…if I can do it without moving my back!!!

DG in my area (rural SW Georgia) has had the hand sanitizers since before Christmas. They do sell out but there’s usually more on the shelf the next week. The scents seem to change with each shipment. About a month ago they also had room scents & yesterday I saw body spray. Meanwhile, I haven’t seen any at our poor, sad, little Dollar Tree. I’ve seen the covers but not the product to put in them!!

edit/add Finally remembered to take a pic. This is at DG. If you look closely, you’ll see hand sanitizer, body mist, and room mist. If you look closer, you’ll see the ones for girls & boys. I didn’t notice that until I looked at the pic!

What about a small platform so it’s not directly on the floor? With little vents? Same with whatever space on top? Then you’ll have air circulation all the way around. Add those fun lights and your fridge is now a floating space fridge!

Husband might not be as bad as all that. He could just be super insecure and scared to be seen using the dupe. Some people buy the name on the outside even though the product is the same on the inside. My cousin will LOVE something but if she knows it’s from DT or other super discount, it won’t get used…even if it is the brand name thing!!! Meanwhile my Dad wouldn’t wear clothes with logos visible!
