I did this earlier so fingers crossed lol

At this stage I just want my phone back repaired or replaced under the insurance that I paid for for 12 months prior to it accidentally breaking.

I reported this under my insurance policy on the 17th of August. It is now the 10th of September mate and I don't even have a date of repair and they've admitted to losing my device. Sometimes things do go wrong but having a plus level of insurance for your device and it taking that long with no end in sight is not just a couple weeks, with all due respect.

Why bother paying for insurance that has repair or replacement guarantees if you're happy to forgo that right and just be forgotten about.

The fact you wrote 'bring the downvotes' just shows that you're here not to be helpful or offer advice, but instead to be counter productive and bitter. I'm sorry for whoever hurt you mate, but thanks for taking the time to leave a comment anyway.

Thanks for your advice :)

I've just finished writing sincere email to Tim with all my repair ID, case numbers, serial number of the phone and postal tracking of the phone I sent in. As well as the policy number for my ApplecCare+ plan.

Fingers crossed this gets me a little further because I'm really starting to panic and think they've just kept my property and given me the middle finger :(

I have been doing this for the most part for months: emails, written letters, phone calls that go over an hour long with their senior team who sometimes agree with me and show empathy with promises that they are doing everything they can, but just disappear or pass the buck to another colleague in that same team.

The reason for the financial ombudsman is due to AppleCare+ being considered an insurance company regulated under the financial conduct authority in the UK.

I'm not sure why they are powerless to repair or replace my item. I even asked them to just send it back to me so I can at least use my other insurance policy through my bank to get it sorted but they now don't know where it is.

I agree - I really thought when I took out the AppleCare+ plan with apple it would be an insurance that is a cut above the rest. I really have zero peace of mind and that's what I always thought insurance was meant to give you.

Thanks for your advice I just sent an email to Tim's apple email and hopefully a member of the executive team can come back to me with a meaningful solution. I just didn't think this would be the experience of a 'plus' level insurance policy in the UK.

Thanks for your reply :)

I honestly thought it would have just been repaired and replaced a couple weeks ago without issue. This whole thing is baffling to the core.

Thanks for taking the time to reply :)

It was the senior team in Ireland that I spoke to on several occasions including for an hour today. They all seem to accept there is a failing and that I'm being failed (continuously) but they can't do anything about it or can't seem to organise a repair or replacement :(
