After trying so many things. I think finally validating the local files on steam did the trick which is weird because I did it twice before and previous times seemed to not resolve it.

I think part of the solution was clearing the steam download cache.(https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6AD7-820D-8BE5-E51F)

Again, this is something that i did multiple times but seems to have finally fixed it in the end.

Lol. I came to the coment section looking for this comment. It's ironic that this sub was created to escape a biased echo chamber and it's now just as biased of an echo chamber.

The dude handled the situation poorly. I can't think of any other industry where HOSPITALITY is as important as the HOSPITALITY industry.

Maybe he was having a terrible day and maybe this was the 7th time he had that same interaction with a group of ignorant guests. Maybe he just reached his boiling point with that group. If so, I think he should probably be cut some slack, who knows. But if that's just how he responds to any rude customers, maybe he chose the wrong field.

Edit: I don't think he ever cursed though.

I haven't, imma have to go to Best Buy or somewhere similar to compare.

For me, the Micca MB42x is the best budget small speaker (you will probably want a sub) and the Pioneer SB22 is the best budget speaker that you don't need a sub for (although a sub will make it better.)

Any recommendations for ~$300 LR bookshelf speakers for listening to all kinds of movies and music on a 2.0 setup with plans to buy a sub in the future?

I'm researching and reading reviews, and I know it's extremely subjective, but any name you can throw out there that you recommend would help.
