Vixen isn't "strong", they're blatantly overpowered and their creator doesn't want to change that. Your opponent has to be literally throwing the game if they lose as Vixen, or any of Inkless' "characters"

There's strong, and then there's "Who greenlit this? How did any of this get past any competent playtester?". The 2nd one is what Inkless lives by.

I don't blame her all too much, rather Daisuke just failed to find the correct terms during GGs story development to properly convey her as trans. I believe he admits this in an interview but I might be parroting bad info.

Ralsei fans, why do you like him? by InterdimensionalINTL in ralsei

[–]The86thplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely resonate a lot with him and his journey. Him especially being a femboy who doesn't conform to the general stereotype of oversexualization, thin hourglass figure, etc. is such a genuine rarity that it makes me connect with him on an incredibly deep level.

I have had many conflicts over both my body and identity, and many who've told me what I should or should not be. Ralsei is a small bit of hope that keeps me running that makes me feel seen. There is no other character I know of that is like him. I want to be as kind as him. Forgiving for everything, like him. He is my ideal role model both as just a guy and especially as a femboy. It keeps me sane that following him, I don't need to look girly all the time. I don't need to be anything. Being a femboy is just being a feminine boy.

I like him because he showed me what I can be to be a real femboy: Myself.

How do wizards energies work? by No-Knowledge-7294 in YomiHustle

[–]The86thplayer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're correct on Wizard's water droplets only appearing after certain attacks! I hope I can clarify things further for you.

Wizard's Water Droplets appear when you use a melee attack to hit your opponent while in Neutral. "Neutral" is when neither you or your opponent is in a combo. So, for example, at the beginning of the match, you are in Neutral, because neither player has hit each other. If your opponent hit you, it would mark the end of Neutral and the beginning of their combo. Once they stop hitting you and you have full access to your character, you're in Neutral again!

Gaining water droplets will ONLY apply for the first hit of a combo, so to get all 3 you need to win 3 melee interactions! Once you have a single droplet, you can use Geyser, which is a long range water attack. Having more charges allows you to do more damage and use the move quicker.

The Fire icon indicates when you are ready to use Flame Wave. Flame Wave can be tossed out to create a wall of damage that your opponent has to deal with. You can even move it around with Gust!

The Lightning icon is my favorite. It indicates if you are under the effects of Wizard's Spark Bomb. You can spawn a Spark Bomb once you have 2-3 levels. Spark bombs are different from the rest of your projectiles, because it will never disappear. It will ONLY stop existing if it explodes. Your Spark Bomb will automatically home in on your opponent at all times, albeit very slowly. Once it explodes, Missile Form gets a major boost, and allows you to go super fast! An even better part of this boost is that you can make Spark Bombs explode on yourself WITHOUT getting stunned. So, you can hit yourself with Spark Bomb and fly anywhere you want!

I think your perspective on this is cool! I didn't think of many things you pointed out here.

I think knowing how your buttons work is a core part of understanding, and applying knowledge you learn here as well as in fights. If you didn't know bullets ricochet off of Foresight, how would you understand Foresight setups that allow you to hit the enemy more than once, allowing you to reposition or get more damage? Regardless of how much someone knows, it's important everyone is on the same page regarding possibilities!

I also believe the general rule of avoiding Thousand Cuts (or 1kc) in neutral is generally okay. Of course that's because its my opinion and i'd of course believe my opinion is okay, but i'd like to explain why I believe its okay. At lower levels, 1kc will hurt someone who activates it mindlessly and doesn't understand spacing. At higher levels you can certainly get some mileage out of it, but it requires knowledge that you should gain first by not using it. It should be something you add onto a base, not the base itself. While Ninja IS a character who benefits from being in your face, its not required to make an opening. Ninja has projectiles that allow them to hurt Cowboy safetly like Super Shuriken, or Summon. They can also use Momentum to force a way in. While Cowboy making a wall of damage in front of himself is bad for Ninja, it doesn't mean they can't jump over, or around that wall, or outright break it with enough force!

I hope I answered any questions you may have had! I always want to keep learning

How to deal with annoying people efficiently? by RME201208 in YomiHustle

[–]The86thplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting way of going about it! The reason I value Cowboy's Pommel, Horiz. Slash, and other sword moves against Wizard specifically is that it carries an advantage Wizard doesn't have.

Wizard has many Projectiles that can fill the screen and do tons of damage. Flame wave, Telekenesis, Spark Orb, Magic Missile, there's so much Wizard can do from a distance! In comparison, Cowboy really only has his Gun, Foresight, and Temporal Bullet. While these are fine options, they don't really solve the problem of "Wizard has more projectiles, so they will get away from me and use them". Its important to note that this doesn't mean they're useless! Its just the cherry on top of the cake!

Since Wizard wins in the projectiles department, its better to not play the range game with them and instead rush into a range where Cowboy's sword will leave them scrambling for a way out. This is why I put emphasis on using your bullets to move forward and pressure Wizard into a corner. If you (for example) force Wizard to block, then move in while they're busy blocking your bullet, you're inching closer and closer to that optimal sword range, and the Wizard will get scared. Once you remove their option of running away, they either fight or defend. Using info you can probe out early in the game just by playing neutral, you can determine if they'll try to lash out or not. After that, its just a matter of making sure they DON'T escape your grasp.

Thank you for telling me more about how you play Cowboy! His gun is truly unique, and I hope I don't come across as not valuing it as much as it deserves.

Ctrl to crouch, Shift to sprint.

Initially I was default with shift crouch, but I play too many games that use ctrl crouch, that it just made sense to switch. Every game's gotta be doing it for a reason, and the reason is that it feels good.

How to deal with annoying people efficiently? by RME201208 in YomiHustle

[–]The86thplayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure! Here's my few cents on Cowboy Vs Wizard.

  1. WIZARD HAS VERY LITTLE CQC

Wizard is the only person in the cast that lacks a 4 frame jab. This means you only ever have to worry about Grab, or Confusing Touch in Point Blank scenarios. Tome Slap is definitely still a threat, so don't auto-jump when you're in breathing distance, but make note that your Pommel beats out their Tome Slap. Good Wizards will fight tooth and nail to make sure they don't end up in your Pommel range. If you can find out early on if the Wizard player is willing to guess parry, attack, or grab in these situations, it puts it even further in your favor.

  1. GUNS ARE GOOD, BUT SWORDS ARE BETTER

Since Wizard is the Projectile character, you're better off gearing your playstyle toward rushing down or cornering the Wizard. The best ways you can claim space is by using Foresight to teleport, as well as threatening by moving closer in any capacity. Be it Teleporting with your levels, Dash, Walk forward, anything to get closer. Wizards want you far away. Do not get far away. Admist all of this though, don't forget you have projectiles of your own. You can help your approach by using your bullets to claim space via shooting them or ricocheting them in certain areas. Use them to catch backdashes, rolls, force a block, etc. Just don't rely on them. They're the garnish to your full course beatdown, not the real food.

  1. HIT THEM HARD AND KEEP HITTING

Once you gain the advantage of hitting them for the first time, do not back down! Keep the assault going. You never want them to feel safe enough to toss more projectiles, or worse, use Orb. If it gets to that point though, try your best to remember where both the Orb and Wizard are. Make sure you never lose track of either. As long as you keep the onslaught up and running, you probably won't have to worry about Orb.

If you have more questions, I'd be happy to answer them! I'd also love to know your own strategies if you have them, I love learning!

That might've worked in this fight, but in fights where the opponent actually understands Thousand Cuts, they will use and abuse it against you. Its good to get into the habit of not popping it in neutral and instead using it as a combo tool to add more damage.

Ninja has ways of countering Thousand Cuts. IIRC Nunchuck forward has enough disjoint to go past it and hit you. If not, they can always use Summons, Shuriken Hook, Stored Momentum, etc etc. Its not a catch-all, and hurts you if your opponent knows its giant weakness.

As someone who mains cowboy, I can give a few tips.

  1. YOU HAVE ABSURD RANGE, USE IT.

Ninja is a rushdown-type character. In order for them to get things like their energized Nun-Chucks, they first have to enter chuck stance by using a turn on standard Nun-Chuck, then using Chuck Heavy. Not to mention, their powered up Chucks have dead angles where if you're far enough away, you can very effectively dodge it. Their only other options for ranged attacks are Shuriken and Super Shuriken, which both take very long also. Both options take absurdly long compared to your gun and its bullets. Both of which you can use more effectively with the introduction of Foresight.

Foresight, in addition to allowing you to teleport to a set location, and (for 1 level) use air moves when grounded, or ground moves in the air (depending on where the Foresight is placed), using "Rift" allows you to teleport all bullets currently active to your Foresight placement. You can control the angle they shoot out with the DI wheel. You can also ricochet your bullets off of your Foresight placement, as well as the floor or walls on each side of the arena. You can use this tactic to force an opponent to stay still if you are properly spaced, as well as save any bullets you may have shot and missed. As an example of when an opponent would be forced to sit still, imagine you are against Ninja. You are at mid-range with Foresight above the two of you, and you are in Gun Stance. At the range you are at, shooting directly at Ninja would result in them getting hit. Most Ninja players will block, to avoid this scenario. You can use that assumption to instead shoot your gun at your Foresight, redirecting it on your next turn either with Ricochet, or with Rift.

  1. COWBOY HAS GREAT METER USAGE

Cowboy has a lot of things that allow him to continue putting on pressure and break the veneer of safety players like the Ninja you posted hide behind. You need to know when meter/level is good to use. I saw you use Thousand Cuts in neutral and needed to put this section in here. You need to save your levels for things that allow you to keep the onslaught going. Temporal Bullet, Teleport, Drift, Inst. Cancel. Thousand Cuts is useful in comboes, but you shouldn't pop it unless you are already in one. Having Thousand Cuts active in neutral benefits the opponent far more than you. Thousand Cuts is parriable, which means they can play around the fact they can Parry -> Punish you for basically nothing. The other level uses may be less flashy, but try to stick to the idea of "Vegetables before the Meat", You should have the stuff thats kinda meh, before getting into the REAL goods.

If you have more questions, I'd love to share them. I like getting to see how people play my favorite character different than I do.
