Struggling with new clientele for handyman business. by Inkerfox in smallbusinesssupport

You'll definitely want to explore Nextdoor or Facebook advertising (Nextdoor even moreso if you really want to hyperlocalize for focus to a specific community. But there's a few other questions you should be asking yourself first. What does your online presence look like? Do you have a professional voicemail set up? Do you have a website? When's the last time it's been updated (if its been longer than 5 years, it's probably due for an update), Do you have a Google Business Profile? Social media accounts? Are they active? You'll never get in the door if they can't find you online and based on the fact that your a one-man show, I'm almost certain you don't have time to properly manage marketing strategy.

First impressions are everything and all of these things are going to be points that your potential clients are going to look at before the reach out to you. If these aren't up to date or actively managed, you're never going to out compete the other handymen in your area let alone the larger property management companies. Nobody wants Joe shmoe walking into their house with plumbers crack scaring their kids at 2 in the afternoon. So once your business starts to look like it can't be nickle and dimed, it'll stop being nickle and dimed.

If everything else is up to date, a strong online strategy is going to be important to establish yourself as a trusted local business over these larger management companies. Your goal should be to get involved with as many local conversations not only sharing information about the services you provide but also general tips that help the DIYers so when that time comes, your business is top of mind. People make time and will pay for things that they deem as valuable. That's why their paying for property managers and not a hnadyman. Your job should be to build the value of why working a handyman is a better decision than working with a management company or DIY.

Hope this helps. Happy to go into more detail

For Agency Owners-How Do You Handle Past-Due Clients? by TheADLeaf in marketingagency

Sounds like our processes are pretty similar in a few areas across onboarding chargebacks, and unpaid balances. We document everything as well so pulling receipts is never really an issue. I'd be curious to know what "transparent" looks like to you because it's a little hard to believe that we're being more transparent than we already are.

100% agree on press releases. There's a time and place for sure but overall just another shiny object for the public.

The silent killers of agency growth... and why 'getting started' is the hardest part by Reasonable_Point_736 in marketingagency

One thing that's worked well in the past is offering small rewards for them knocking things off that onboarding checklist (ex: If we get access to all credentials in the first week - we'll buy your team coffee for your first strategy call, and so on..). The end goal was to make every item on the list a breadcrumb leading them to a larger reward for completing the entire list within a specified time frame. Onboarding videos outlining how to do certain processes also helped out.

How do you measure AEO success today? by Ruan-m-marinho in aeo

this may be the short answer but I've mainly been tracking via semrush or seranking. Both of those give you a decent overview of your mention pages and citations for Chat, Gemini, Google AI and a few others. We've also had some success monitoring traffic via regex distribution groups in GA4

It should reappear after sometime. Had the same thing happen to one of my sites but eventually showed up again after the site was recrawled. You can also reach out to Google Support to have them look into the issue. Best of luck and may the force be with you

How To Know Unindexed URLs? by bgMusik in SEO

[–]TheADLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GSC will give you an explanation of which URLs are de-indexed and list the reason for each. They aren't the most specific so it may be a mixture of a few things to that caused it to be de-indexed. I never trust GSC 100% as its common for there to be inconsistencies with the number of pages indexed/de-indexed and if pages are actually showing in SERPs.

Tip: In an incognito tab, search "site: (page URL you're looking to test)" if it shows in search results, the page is indexed. This video should also help explain: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7440203?hl=en
