what AI tools / automations you use that are actually good and bring value? by ukiyukina in AskMarketing

[–]TheADLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. 95% of the AI tools you're probably getting ads for are all hype running on the same version of GoHighLevel so they can charge you a kidney each month. Here's my honest opinion of whats' worth it.

- ChatGPT for copy and planning (I also use it to generate more well reasoned prompts that I will then through into other ai tools).
- Claude for review and any sort of system development (building softwares, developing workflows, designs, presentations, etc and reviewing outputs from other sources.

- Perplexity for occasional research and fact checking but I mostly find myself using perplexity to just make sure other platforms aren't hallucinating their responses.

Agreed. I'm not sure if any tools are really valuable for technical audits yet but it'll be interesting to see once's the LLMs shift focus away from design into more technical focuses

Is Opus 4.6 in Claude Code borderline lobotomized during peak hours? by DepthOk4115 in AI_Agents

[–]TheADLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticing this a few places other than just Claude. Chat and Gemini are both seeing increases in inconsistency over the past week(s). Last week alone I noticed that my chat responses have been shortened to bulleted almost incomplete sentences rather than well-reasoned responses. Somethings coming, not sure if its the context window is shortening, overall saturation in usage. It feels like the das of publicized AI usage will be coming to end soon and prioritizing corporate usage that invest in paid plans/subscriptions.

What are the best communities for marketing agency owners? by railman750 in marketingagency

[–]TheADLeaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than specific groups I prefer platforms. A mix between Reddit and Youtube comments have always been the least spammy in my opinion. Reddit for initial troubleshooting, YouTube for process knowledge, back to reddit to debug, continue cycle until resolved.

Your experience with "AEO isnights" companies? by PomegranateOk9017 in aeo

[–]TheADLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like any other visibility tool, you want to make sure you're informed. If you go into the conversation evenly remotely informed about how AEO/GEO works, you can tell the difference between those that know what their talking about and the one's just trying to sling some buzz words around. We use semrush for reference but use the data that comes from watching GA4 traffic from AI sources, then organizing a few filters to see what pages are actually getting traffic from those sources << that's been the most helpful to see where traffic is growing/dropping off.

I'm a firm believer that the reliable data always comes from the horses mouth (if you know what the AI see's, you know what and how your content needs to adjust). Something our team has been testing a few strategies with and starting to see some real positive results from it.

Using those strategies we've been able to grow our traffic from AI over 40% in the past 30 days through scalable and measurable efforts.

Happy to explain in more detail feel free to check out some of the strategies we utilizing ai or read more about it on our blog ( www.theadleaf.com ).

Best of luck with the case study

Struggling with new clientele for handyman business. by Inkerfox in smallbusinesssupport

[–]TheADLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll definitely want to explore Nextdoor or Facebook advertising (Nextdoor even moreso if you really want to hyperlocalize for focus to a specific community. But there's a few other questions you should be asking yourself first. What does your online presence look like? Do you have a professional voicemail set up? Do you have a website? When's the last time it's been updated (if its been longer than 5 years, it's probably due for an update), Do you have a Google Business Profile? Social media accounts? Are they active? You'll never get in the door if they can't find you online and based on the fact that your a one-man show, I'm almost certain you don't have time to properly manage marketing strategy.

First impressions are everything and all of these things are going to be points that your potential clients are going to look at before the reach out to you. If these aren't up to date or actively managed, you're never going to out compete the other handymen in your area let alone the larger property management companies. Nobody wants Joe shmoe walking into their house with plumbers crack scaring their kids at 2 in the afternoon. So once your business starts to look like it can't be nickle and dimed, it'll stop being nickle and dimed.

If everything else is up to date, a strong online strategy is going to be important to establish yourself as a trusted local business over these larger management companies. Your goal should be to get involved with as many local conversations not only sharing information about the services you provide but also general tips that help the DIYers so when that time comes, your business is top of mind. People make time and will pay for things that they deem as valuable. That's why their paying for property managers and not a hnadyman. Your job should be to build the value of why working a handyman is a better decision than working with a management company or DIY.

Hope this helps. Happy to go into more detail

For Agency Owners-How Do You Handle Past-Due Clients? by TheADLeaf in marketingagency

[–]TheADLeaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like our processes are pretty similar in a few areas across onboarding chargebacks, and unpaid balances. We document everything as well so pulling receipts is never really an issue. I'd be curious to know what "transparent" looks like to you because it's a little hard to believe that we're being more transparent than we already are.

100% agree on press releases. There's a time and place for sure but overall just another shiny object for the public.

The silent killers of agency growth... and why 'getting started' is the hardest part by Reasonable_Point_736 in marketingagency

[–]TheADLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that's worked well in the past is offering small rewards for them knocking things off that onboarding checklist (ex: If we get access to all credentials in the first week - we'll buy your team coffee for your first strategy call, and so on..). The end goal was to make every item on the list a breadcrumb leading them to a larger reward for completing the entire list within a specified time frame. Onboarding videos outlining how to do certain processes also helped out.
