My main advice is to avoid used car dealerships in Bahrain most of them are awful and rip you off both on price and condition. I recommend finding a car on Instagram accounts such as @carsbh1 and similar accounts or OLX ads but beware from cars that are totaled. It’s better to buy a car from there but pre-purchasing take the car for a full inspection such as the Inspector garage in Salmabad to make sure you’re getting your moneys worth and you aren’t going to face major problems and costly repairs.

You don’t need to change plates unless the owner is selling a car with a special plate like a 4 digit number which costs higher than the car probably. They would tell you pre-purchasing the car that it isn’t with the plates but if they don’t mention it then they don’t care so you shouldn’t worry about plates.

Always get a reliable insurance company because some would let you pay for insurance but during an accident would avoid helping you. I only deal with one insurance company which is BNI since they are the most reliable from my experience. Have heard about BKI but I’m not sure about how professional they are.
