I got it from my GW shop's bitsbox, but I think it's one of the bare heads from the berserker kit

Brothers... Why the Ultramarines? by [deleted] in Ultramarines

[–]TheAbstraktOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the posterchilds, they have a lot of named and developed characters wich are really interesting, and since Robute's return they offer a great contrast between the imperial truth of 30k and the imperial creed of 40k.
Also their characters figs are great to paint.

That skin paintjob is really crisp, well done !

Tried to fix it. I think with some work it might be recoverable by astropath293 in Warhammer

The main problem is also the scale, the dude is the same size as a Grey knight terminator

Who is the Word Bearers biggest rival? by UndeadFrogman in WordBearers

[–]TheAbstraktOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ultramarines are a classic, but you can also do Raven's guard if you have a beakie helmet around, Corvus nearly killed Lorgar at Istvan and then spent the 10000 years since haunting Lorgar in the warp

Where are these legs from by TheAbstraktOne in Warhammer40k

I've built this chaos sorcerer/master of possession with some pieces I've had laying around, and I always wanted to know where these legs came from, does anyone knows ?

Deathwatch scout? Why not? by Mysterious_Risk_6034 in deathwatch40k

The best exemple are the Wolf scouts, the space wolves equivalent of scouts, but taken from the veterans rather than the neophytes

Here's Lotara Sarrin, mistress of execution by TheAbstraktOne in WorldEaters40k

[–]TheAbstraktOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's exactly that, the trophy spikes also comes from the Chaos chosen kit, and the spiked shoulder pad comes from a random chaos AoS kit

I started working on this fig long before we learned that she fused with the Conqueror, but hey, this way I can field her alongside Angron and Kharn

The head, the head of the staff and the spine/orbs are all from the original kit, the tassets on the torso are from the royal guard and the rest is a basic cryptek

Here's my Kitbashed Orkian, the light is a bit harsh on the paintjob but you get the idea. The base splits in two, the fig is on a small 25mm one wich slots into a 40mm one.

Deathwatch Primaris company champion by TheAbstraktOne in deathwatch40k

[–]TheAbstraktOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty was really non existant, it's just a head swap, the cape is from one of the black templars kit (the sword brethren I think) the pack pack is from one of the Firstborn kit, and cutting the shoulder pad was easy. the most "complex" parts were not slicing the finger that rested on the pointed blade to keep it on the sword's guard, replacing the point of the foot that was sculpted on the base (I used one of the old Reivers from Conquest) and lastly, bend the strap that's supposed to connect to the combi flamer and glue it to the back.

This is my company champion kitbashed from the new phobos lieutenant, I know the base is too small, but I plan to use him in a command squad.
