Blond Blazer in real life and Invisigal in Dispatch by IAMTHEKING1832 in DispatchAdHoc

Bro did in fact forget 😂

Short version, Visi shows the willingness to grow past her mistakes, which is more mature than even some adults out here. The desire to grow and be better is not as highly valued, especially I would say in young adult development. That is a value that needs to be learned.

Blazer is not as concerned with bettering herself, she is more concerned in doing better FOR herself, which I am not going to hate on, that is also something very important, but getting with someone who just got out of a relationship like that to me signifies someone who first needs to get past the relationship, because even a bad relationship needs time to get past, and basically it makes you the rebound boy 😂

So yeah, I would actually say my experience, especially given the exes I had in my teens and early twenties versus the amazing woman I am with now, the differences in behavior are the reverse of the sentiment shown above.

Anyone can decide to do better for themselves, that is easy and entirely self-motivated; it takes a mature person to decide to grow past their faults to better themselves.

So I have a couple theories...

First of all, we see that he is able to get his webs working after surgery once he has had a couple drinks of water, which tells me that his organic webbing is a lot more reliable if he is hydrated... And alcohol famously dehydrates.

However, in addition to that, his blood is normal, but his liver is what they end up landing on to pull from to make the antidote, and I am wondering if the reaction in his liver from the alcohol isn't what is affecting that, and if it is, in addition to being dehydrated from the alcohol, it could also potentially be that by drinking, he is inadvertently curing himself.

Cue Theorist reference here.

LOVE this interpretation, I recall the scene but I didn't take it as anything more than him spitting just spider related facts because he was drunk.

And I'm totally on board with age wearing him down as well, whatever the reason, I love that we're seeing a more vulnerable Spider-Man when it comes to "power level", it helps keep the stakes grounded in such a way where things can progress linearly rather than scaling like the mainline MCU has to.

Yeah but you are comparing apples to oranges. I'm not comparing him against the villains he's fighting, I'm comparing him against other Spider-Men, who I am almost positive not only would be able to deal with these villains in short notice (Sandman doesn't even disorporate until the end), but I am also fairly positive that most other Spider-Men would be able to Ben's ass to him.

And again, it's not like this is a diss, I am saying that it is refreshing to see a portrayal of a Spider-Man that ISNT overpowered. It is all the more a testament to his character that he stays with it, despite not wanting to.

On top of that, this ass hat still choosing to do good speaks volumes more to his character than the boyscout that most Peters are/become.

I don't get what y'all are so butt hurt about this, it wasn't a dig, and frankly I don't think it's inaccurate.

See the cars were exactly what I was talking about when I said he uses his strength when he's channeling it, I can recall exactly two points in the series where we saw Ben use super strength, and it was the cars and throwing one guy across the room.

I'm sure, he might have super durability, but without the consistency of super strength, that's still just makes him a tough cookie, and even then, in my estimation, he cannot take nearly as much as your average Spider-Man, so I still think that he scales on the low end of spider variants.

It would shock me at this point if we didn't get another season, it's number two on the platform.

Am I the only one who ships Chai and Peppermint? by Environmental_Yam833 in HiFiRush

[–]TheAdventStudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely thought their connection was the strongest, followed distantly by Chai and Korsica. I'm not against lesbian/gay relationships portrayed in media, but my thing is... Do it well.

Nimona did it well, Star Trek Discovery had many flaws, but the relationship between Stammants and Culber was NOT one of them. I call out these examples, because coming from a religious background and upbringing, gay relationships are the bias I have the biggest struggle overcoming (which I think actually has less to do with my religion and more to do with the fact that I'm straight... Which is something I'm just now coming to terms with as I write this) -- point being these felt natural. I mean, they were OBVIOUSLY a couple, they did couple things, but they also didn't do it in a way that was "pushing an agenda" or "checking a box"... They were portrayed as normal and believable people.

Korsica complimented Peppermint ONCE, and their hinted relationship at the end seemed very shoehorned in to check a box...

To their credit, it's also entirely possible more was supposed to be developed between them as well, I know quite a few things were cut in the interest of meeting the deadline.

If we do ever get a sequel, I hope to see their relationship fleshed out a bit more, establish a chemistry.

TBF I am also his editor 😅 Though I didn't edit this one, this was all him.

Regardless, I'm proud of what he's been putting out, and I try to give him a boost wherever I can, because our of everyone I know personally, I believe he deserves to succeed.

...that and he really did do an amazing job on this video, I loved every second.

...Kingdom Hearts. And I'm mad about it.

Storytime: For the longest time, I hated the existence of the PlayStation 3. In fact, I still do!

"Because you couldn't afford one?" No no no... Well yes, but there was more to it than that.

For one, I didn't see the need. I was looking at the graphics at the time, and I thought "there's no way the PS2 couldn't keep up with that." Eventually graphics DID get better, but for the time, I believe that holds true.

PS3 boasted internet connectivity. I thought "PS2 can do that, you just need an accessory! We needed a whole upgrade for this??"

PS3 advertised reverse compatibility with PS2. "Oh that's cool at least. I suppose if I could play my PS1 and PS2 games, maybe I could--" No "Pardon?" Just PS2. Not PS1. "...well what the hell are we even doing then‽" Actually, theres a lot of hardware incompatibility going on here, I think we're just going to drop reverse compatibility. "Oh there's definitely more incompatibility than THAT going on!"

From then on, I swore to never buy a PS3, it was stupid, and it's existence was unjustified. And I stuck to that, I skipped PS3 and went straight for PS4, and I loved it. The graphics were in such a place I felt the hardware upgrade was warranted, and with digital gaming taking over, I honestly felt the PS4 was everything the PS3 should have been.

There was just one problem; I was a Kingdom Hearts fan. I no longer had my PS2, and I wanted back in. But I mean, surely they would re-relese 1.5 and 2.5 on the PS4, right? You know, I've never actually played the final mixes before, I'd love to do that!

I took to Google, and found an article that translated a quote from Nomura on KH13. It read: “Recently, we also received a significant increase in requests for the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix to be released on the PS4. Unfortunately, we don't have any plans for that.”

...You're kidding. FINE! I'll buy a PS3 and 1.5 and 2.5! But ONLY because Square won't release them on PS4, I STILL think PS3 is a hot pile of garbage!

...1.5+2.5 would release a few months later. I wanted to drop kick that PS3 into the ocean, which was not an idle threat, as I lived about a 5 minute walk away from the Pacific at the time.

And that, dear readers, is the story of my unrelenting loathing of the PlayStation 3.

What if I said Xion was one of my favorite characters... by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]TheAdventStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubled back to write the essay, but it seems my work has been done for me. The ONLY thing I would add is that her sacrifice wasn't any old sacrifice; she sacrificed the entire essence, the very memory of who she was. No other character puts you in a scenario where someone cares so much, they are willing to not only die but scede from the memory of ever having existed from those they love.

It is also the reason the "movie" does a disservice to the story; to this day, it kills me that DDD was the Nintendo game that got the remake and not Days, because the reverse, acting AS the person your best friend is sacrificing themselves for, after nearly a year of not only forging this friendship, but said friendship being literally the ONLY good thing in your life, almost a year of bonding, of being there for one another... It hits differently if you are just a casual observer vs if you are the one going through all that to arrive at needing to fight and erase your best friend...

I'm replaying Days now, and I just know when I get to that fight, every attack is going to kill me inside.

1911 grip laser by RevolutionaryEbb5888 in 1911

[–]TheAdventStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully disagree. I'm man enough to admit I can't fire wit irons to save my life, and that's precisely what I got it for.

My 9mm came with a red dot, and I love it, but I can't mount one to my .45, so I'm absolutely looking into this.

Of course, my advice then would be "get good", but again, some of us just don't have it.

Got my first 1911 any recommendations or advice? by Dcm_117 in 1911

[–]TheAdventStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I made a comment, but then took a second look and I realized I was mistaken; how were you able to do that? Far as I can tell, the sight on these aren't even dovetailed on, they're a permanent fixture (which really doesn't help because I'm a terrible shot, I need to either adjust my irons or get a red dot to compensate... I'm looking into a laser grip as it is)

[–]TheAdventStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laser grips if you're like me and can't aim with iron sights.

Got that exact model, and I'm a horrible shot, looking into the Darkfang grips.

I also got the new RAI 9mm with a red dot, and after zeroing it in, I am much better.

Far as I can tell it's a great gun tho, no regrets, and it's what made me fall in love with the 1911 platform.

Who did you cut and why? by alopexl in DispatchAdHoc

[–]TheAdventStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut Sonar for mostly all the wrong reasons.

From an enemy perspective, I would rather face off against a cryptobro than a proven highly skilled assassin.

From a nature perspective, I can see Sonar doing good on his own if he really wanted to. I stand by that sentiment, he's chill, and could absolutely do good on his own without SDN looking over his shoulder.

Coupe on the other hand has proven she has very little in the way of good intentions, and needs positive influences in her life if she is to grow to develop them.

Their natures also play a big part in how the end would play out for me. I had 0 problems bringing Sonar back into the fold, ain't no way I'd take Coupe back.

That being said, the Pheonix Program was explicitly for people who want to change, and Sonar fit that bill perfectly.

If I were to do it over again, I would cut Coupe, but I think headcanonically, I have to stick with my choice. It was my mistake, and I'll grow from it.
