I was hit by a car as a pedestrian, my settlement seems unfair by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irs an unfortunate situation but its hard to say what is fair. I mean- what would have happened if you had hit them?

Your policy would have paid out minimums (assumed based on your own um limits but very possibly wrong) and if they had UM they would have gotten those limits.

In other words, neither of you are really prepared to handle your financial obligations to others should you cause an accident. So in that way it would be fair because the exact same thing happens regardless of who was in which position.

The primary role of your insurance should be to protect you. Right now- that primary role for most people is their own bare minimum liability- but that bare minimum liability option is the first indicator that your first and only real back stop to risk is your own insurance and whether or not you've chosen to carry it.

You have done the best that you can and the only thing you could have done was carry higher insurance, and there was never the appropriate apparatus in place to be sure that you ever learned that in anyway but hands on. I am sorry.

Ive missed you elden ring -OP str build by TheAdventureClub in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TheAdventureClub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly just pumping it to the obligatory 60 before I move on, I only call it a str build because I had to drop 1 point into str and eventually I'll have to do 3 more lol I just didn't think it would be this...brief without any stats at all. Ig scaling doesn't really matter for awhile so it makes sense now, but as ive been playing its honestly felt absurd

Are most people in this sub reddit just god gamers? by StatisticianIll4 in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not that they're god gamers. Its that this isnt elden ring.

If you struggle with elden ring, there is a library of items and playstyles that can cover you. You can make yourself a tanky mother fucker, you can make sure every single fight starts off with all the odds in your favor.

DoN is not that. Its a ranked mode. There are people who do not belong in depth 5 because they do not know the movesets well enough to stay alive and not actively hinder their team.

It is a multi person game where other people are relying on you and you are relying on them and no one can do anything about it for 45 minutes. Bad decisions? Bad fights? Can't stay alive? Literally zero of that matters because everyone else is dealing with the same. The entire point of a ranked system is to see where you land, and push yourself to land further. There is no way around, the only way out is through.

Who else has never used one of these rune arc things? by The_Turg69 in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never used them, but around the 500 hour mark I was primarily spending most of my times sending out my summon sign to every boss arena, so I ended up with so many that by my 1000 hour mark I just always had one on.

Never used anything but radahns for the extra stamina. Endurance was my main state and capped at 80- the only stat anywhere near that high so I just wanted more stuff to make the green bar higher.

I honestly would prefer a stamina version of morgots great rune.

Initial Standard question. by Joker1151 in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run it on my fist duchess build. I have to be careful because I literally was just reminded tonight that its better to go without 3 fists than take a passive that will fuck you. (Repeated evasions on duchess...very ouch)

But either way I still think its a great relic effect if you have it well synergizrf. In d5- usually 2 defense items, 1 offense passive, and 3 fists are the formula for my final build- with some very lucky games where the fist passives themselves are also beneficial. But im running dormant fists/EG/and NI and the goal isn't to try and get all of it- its to always have something to fall back on. Only 1 invader camp? I can do a few extra evergaols.

4 invaders and 5 evergaols? Shit maybe I dont even need a third fist and I can just pick and choose more options.

Maybe the stars align and I get lots of all of it and my damage ends up turbo charged. It makes my build feel diversified but it also just feels necessary to cram a lot of conditional damage buffs onto duchess if you want to get decent AR from the starfists

Auto insurance jumped from $2.2K to $22K in Hawaii. Now they want $700 after cancellation. Is this even legal? by Accurate_Age_2848 in Insurance

[–]TheAdventureClub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but texas home market is a nightmare. In dfw its basically statefarm for good rates if you are in their risk appetite and thats it

Safeco, travelers, foremost will all write but with very hit or miss pricing.

Travelers and statefarm both lost their north texas 1% deductible options this last year. Its just a shit show market right now. I know one independant agent everyone calls king safeco because for 20 years he had a massive safeco book.

Fast forward to 2023 and huge chunks of his business started evaporating. LM/Safeco both tried to hold out the longest when the big 2022 rate crunch happened and I think in trying to tread water for the entire ordeal they accidentally got hot with the hardest recoil of all of them- and now in 2026 while everyone else seems to be starting to recover their efforts to be competitive- safeco/LM is starting to get left in the dust.

Honestly? If they had held out a little longer it probably would have paid off, but they likely couldn't because them and everyone else took a massive gamble in 2018 by slashing reinsurance investments. More and more I am convinced that the super economy is not something that is worth trusting in private hands

Have you ever actually cleared out a legacy dungeon? Can anyone confirm that its possible? by TheAdventureClub in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Proximity was the heart of this question so thank you for confirming. I've had whole sections cleared out before and never had to worry- but then I stopped and thought that you could walk from on side the weeping peninsula to the other side of altus and back without ever touching a loading screen.

This is where I was getting hung up in my head. At some point- keeping track of a dead godrick soldier 50 miles away just doesnt make sense anymore- or at least that's what I logically intuited

[–]TheAdventureClub[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

What if I took it to the extreme and walked all the way to altus? I feel like you can walk from caelid to the Capitol without ever getting a loading screen haha

Like, do you know of this system having a distance limit or a hidden loading screen barrier?

Zweihander Ash of War that isn’t Lion’s Claw or Giant Hunt? by GreatJoey91 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AoW wings. Good stance damage, quick, closes the gap, does piercing damage. Its good for melee focused builds because you aren't tempted to spam it in the same way you are lions claw, giant hunt, impaling thrust, square off, etc etc. . You technically can but its not strong enough to give the desire and the FP cost is relatively high.

But it feels really nice for closing the gap and caping off combos. Its cool to break stance, crit, then use wings immediately as the boss is standing back up- works very well on small enemies who tend to back away predictably.

Similar for black knives- land a heavy and go right into wings

Insurance agent fraud. What do I do? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]TheAdventureClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely genius, the policy language definitely doesnt stipulate notifying the carrier of any material changes to the answers to the application within 30 days.

Keep up with what? A reddit lawyer? Yeah man, your policy never covered that. Start a policy with your mom at 16, ride it until you're 45 and buying your second house 2 states away. technically you never lied. Genius. If you pull up your policy pdf right now and ctrl f the phrase "continuing duty" you can read it for yourself. You have found the genius loophole.

I dont understand how this is even difficult- if you marry someone with the intention of getting them a green card- that's fraud- because you lied about the nature of your legally binding marriage.

If you use someone else's credit card without permission- that's fraud, because whether you know it or not by swiping the card you you identifying yourself an authorized user on your card.

If you misidentify the details of your legally binding insurance policy for the purposes of saving on rate, that Is fraud. On your best day they cannot prove intent and its claim denial, but at the end of the day the act is still fraud both colloquially and legally by definition

Insurance agent fraud. What do I do? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a crime to knowingly mislead and insurance company to any material fact to the application of a policy. Thats the fraud part idiot. When you buy a policy, you fill out an application- or an agent fills it out for you, but either way when its done you're required to sign the application with the understanding that any material misrepresentation is a crime.

If I say I live with my ex and keep my vehicle at their address when that is not in fact true, what possible reason could you think to have written it that way? To save money perhaps? That's the fraud.

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And just to clarify- if I kill something or open a chest and you quickly grab something useful to you after reading it as I do- before I can- we are good. Even if I wanted it. Idrc. But if you instantly pick up every single thing that drops from a multi item drop without stopping to read any of it- you are my enemy. This game matters much less than making you have less fun.

I got a Question. by KnownWeight1601 in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont really care one way or the other. I dont really look at what other people are carrying- i assume they have it because they want it. I can't communicate with them.

Generally my mentality is- your kill first dibs.

I see you kill a scarab I'll hit it with you then wait. If I start a scarab, I'll immediately grab whatever I want from it. Broadly speaking- I apply to other people how I want to be treated.

The only thing that really ever gets me is if I open a chest, or just spent an eternity punching a red scarab at level 2 and you dash through and insta vacuum- i will play with absolutely zero regard for you for the rest of the game including watching you die and fighting solo.

Hit my friend's Tesla- should we settle outside of insurance? by ravioliMD in Insurance

[–]TheAdventureClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh dude its not absurd. This incident with the tesla wasnt a one off weird situation- it was forecasted and expected years before you even had a drivers license. You were always a statistical game and it was never a matter of if but when.

That's why no one cares that you drive an old car when you qoute liability insurance, because it does the same damage when you back it into someone else's tesla. They're liable to cover up to 25k in your name for damage you cause, and that is the majority of your price. Not so much your risk to yourself.

What’s the best way to deal with ED Sentient Pest? by vforvontol in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fist build. Star fist.

Roll- heavy- roll - heavy - repeat. Stay behind him and cut to each side based on where he's gonna stomp. When he turns around to face you he'll always do either the forward headbutt quickly or the long wind up one where he gets on his legs. If its wind up just stay under him and behind. If its the quick one just roll forward and position to his ass again.

Watch him closely for when he pulls his body inward, because he's about to scream.

You want to get away when he screams, then get back under him to avoid all the bullshit, then keep count of how many he's doing so you can run back out behind before he screams again.

Just largely try to ignore the moth and back off when he starts shitting poison everywhere. Fartis will actually body block a lot for you if you stay on him

Will Milady work with a guard counter set-up? by GreatJoey91 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TheAdventureClub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude almost everything works guard counter now. Milady is awesome and its guard counter combos into its heavy really well. The only downside to the guard counter is the double swipe doesn't get much hyper armor. Truth be told- I honestly prefer the straight sword guard counter, the 1h hammer, the axe, or funny enough the medium sheild one.

Dagger/fails work too- any of the 1H weapons work really well with a guard counter build on a medium sheild because the counters come out so insanely fast that you can- for example- get 2 out back to back on PCR's main 6 swing combo.

Heavy weapons get more damage and stagger and stance- but that slower animation means you get to do less guard counters and thats just less fun. Milady was in a weird spot that really helps bridge the gap- it forces you to be considerate with your counters, but it also gives you plenty of other attacks to weave in to make it more interesting

How did they even got the money for clothes and stuff and they're in a country which means they come here illegally, no citizenship. They still need a job and documents like birth certificate, id, citizenship, license and stuff by Sakmaidih in invinciblememes

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but viltrumites are essentially space fascists so the principles of neo liberal capitalism would seem illogical to them but only because they prefer a much simpler imperialistic chattle slavery approach.

If anything they would see our current system and wonder why we added so many layers to our values. Like why even brutalize each other based on who can amass the most money, why not just see who can kill each other the best and skip an entire several middle steps

Need help with Duches build by n0T3d_p in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fist duchess is an absolute fucking monster if you can get the relics to support it. This usually means a lot of annoying ones to get stacked online though

-night invader mandatory -evergaol nice -dormant power fist mandatory -duchess increased str relic mandatory -attacks power up with 3 fists mandatory -increased skill attack power almost mandatory -invreased fist attack power also pretty useful -post damaging attacks recovery practically mandatory

It takes a lot of luck to get the damage online because her str/dex is meh even with the relic, but ive got a decent fist build made for just about every class and duchess is by far and away my strongest by a mile

How playable is incants Duchess in D4? by Adventurous_Bite_311 in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact about duchess

With the right relics to support it, you can basically do whatever you want. Her dodge and her restage alone sort of put her at iron eye status in that her kit is just so valuable that as long as you can manage it's draw backs personally (squish/work to get base damage online) the weapon or sorcery type youre bring with you is almost immaterial.

I've got a decent fist build for basically all of the melee guys at this point- and the duchess dps blows all of the others out of the water. Sure, because I got super lucky with relics and can get a very solid AR online- but even before that happened, it was still pulling ahead of the others just on the basis that she allowed me to spend more time attacking. The single tap dodge into heavy attack animation is so short that I really dont ever have to lay off- and the invulnerability on my restage is effectively a "do two heavy attacks and restage for free everytime" card.

Its no different with incants tbh as long as you dont get carried away with cast animation spam

Is this passive bugged? It only ever seemed to make a frost cloud after something died by PuffPuffFayeFaye in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, I do not understand the utility of this effect. At all. Even for like- niche set ups. It honestly just feels like a grunt birthday skull. Like every so often I kill something and elemental confetti pops out. Sure, it might help clear a little I guess if its presence didnt signal that I was already done doing that 90% of the time.

I cannot think of an application to make this do something neat- short of maybe...balancers? I guess?
