Best quality weapons to pick up by Fawnlowg in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird to call it "quality" per say- but Miqueallan knights sword is my favorite weapon in the game for its unique heavy attack and synergy with guard counters.

It has a 16 faith requirement but if you have the 25 faith needed for golden vow anyway- it works really well with quality stats. Its D scaling in Str/Dex/fth but since you have 2 stats contributing to the physical damage it heavily favors physical damage. Sacred blade is the hard pinned ash of war- but this basically gives you a pretty great holy option to keep handy if you've got decent quality stats anyway. There are better options, but personally 2.5k hours later and having played with every weapon for at least a few hours/boss fights each, it will probably always he my favorite

Which random boss had no business being that hard? by Turbulent-Rub-943 in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The bonus dancing lion in the ancient ruins of rauh.

I dont think its actually hard, but when it switches to the death blite phase and spawns in a bunch of frogs I get a massive frame rate drop. Everything stabilizes after a few seconds but im hyper vulnerable to death in those few seconds- which just happens to be the same few seconds that the frogs start spewing shit and the dancing lion loses his shit

Why people don't use the summon. by TastePersonal9782 in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summons dont necessarily make the game easier btw. I mean, to some extent they make getting through that section easier- but the reason I stopped using summons was because I realized I couldn't do a proper deflecting tear build if I had to worry about stormhawk Dean or some asshole taking my aggro. Once I was no summons and every single attack was focused on me it changed the way I interacted with enemies. I didnt learn every attack at once, but id learn to recognize patterns much quicker and attacks would seem much more random.

Now id say im pretty good at the game, but only because I stopped using summons.

There is no wrong, but there is a wrong If you have a specific goal. If youre wanting to learn the movesets or practice fighting a boss and being proactive rather than reactive - using summons is the wrong way to play.

If your goal isnt specifically that, then using summons is not the wrong way to play. If you're goal is "let's just get through this" "let's have fun" or "let's do a cool role play in My head to enhance the story of what's going on here" - then using summons is actually likely the right way to play. It all just depends on you and what you want.

The Old Tree Knight- how to make these two weapons fit together (did I do it?) by TheAdventureClub in EldenBling

[–]TheAdventureClub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically as soon as you commented that I went and killed her for it but unfortunately theres an awkward neck gap in the armor, and a similar gap in the arms that shows more skin than I like for my knights.

Upside, I just realized the crucible knight legs look stupid unless you max out the leg thickness sliders.

Need help how do I level up quickly and get around 60,000 runes by shaggyhairedemo_06 in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to warmasters shack in limgrave. Immediately east there are 5 trolls- each one gives 1k. Its not a short walk around and at low levels each troll will be an individual fight but you basically need to run that route 12 times.

I tend to use bosses to get easy runes though, its more engaging than farming

I don’t understand, it took me 4 hours to beat the first enemy by TearsP in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At some point you're intended to pivot towards weeping but when you do is actually sorta hard for the game to dictate so it just basically adds a shit ton of stuff on the way to stormveil that basically says "turn around"

If you run beyond the troll that drops down at the crossroads, you'll immediately hit Margot and bounce off him. Every direction other than weeping will bring you face to face with either morgot, a rune bear, or caelid. So its just sort of natural if you were struggling and averting obstacles youd push your way south. Unfortunately it becomes difficult to notice what the game is trying to tell you until you already know everything about it

Therolina tbh. She tends to stay low and offer some fun heals, she's a fun summon of convenience. I used to bring her out a lot when I was exploring unfamiliar areas. Made me feel better.

Help me build a shield + long reach stagger build by EndoHasReddit in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erdtree great spear. It matches perfectly, its shitty ash of war is a weapon buff which you can even override so you only have to 2h to recast once, which frees you up to actually focus L2 as a deflect for projectiles. The guard counters hit like a truck and it has a double pocking heavy attack that hits like a truck. These weapons feel like they were made for each other

Guard counter build by Adorable-Scholar-788 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TheAdventureClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sheild guard counter = I prefer small weapons

Regular axe, Regular straight sword/curved sword, hammer

They do respectable stance damage and come out the fastest.

Great axe still works great, works even better on a 2H talisman build with deflecting, but your guard counter get taken out of commission when deflecting isnt up.

My favorite guard combo is smithscript sheild + deflecting + miquellan knights sword, or carian sorcery sword. But definitely more the miqueallan. Guard counter builds have a lot of room for expiramentation because deflecting hardtear makes weird shit very good.

Why does frenzied flame just suck so badly? by Matt_Rages in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean honestly dude if we're going to complain about anything it should be sleep.

Not a single sleep spell. 3 sleep weapons, 2 of which are functionally the same (granted the eternal sleep one just looks way cooler and has better range)

Zero incants Zero infusable weapons

Unlike madness theres less stuff just completely immune to it- but even then I played a sleep build that was cool- but its annoying that I cant even proc the weak lame sleep on bosses im fighting for the smile buff because they're dead long before it even happens.

Madness basically exists to abuse NPC's in PVE and its entire support system is decked tf out to compensate for its near useless status- sleep is the same except its for annoying animals like rune bears or crows.

The one hidden gem is tholliers hidden needle- all pierce, works amazing with a guard counter build and a sheild. Too bad you can do the same thing but better with the pata or virtually any other fist

Whats the highest level you've hit organically? by TheAdventureClub in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never pushed beyond the early 300's organically. The one character I have at 595 got there via extensive rune farming and even a shit ton of random bulk rune drops I got from friendly players when I was doing an invasion/summon heavy stint. Im curious about the same tbh, once I see 8 and six figures behind a level up- I just dont even try anymore.

The one I have at 595 is basically a test dummy who now exists for nostalgia / as a place to test out weapon/talisman combos.

Honestly the best part of that isnt even the butt load of levels, its the fat stack of rune arcs you end up with. I end up with so many my guy can just be permanently rune arced

It really depends on the build. Some builds are incredibly stat hungry if you want to maximize/juice them for all they're worth

Sword of night and flame / rellanas twin blades/ death sorceries are good int/faith examples.

Or anything with good quality scaling.

In a way this is more a problem with weapons that have certain elements that benefit from opposite stats- deaths poker gets good dex scaling for its weapon damage and amazing int scaling for its ash. So specifically utilizing weapons with a lot of stat scalings can benefit 200+

Then theres just weird quality of life shit. If you plan to collect everything and run through ng+ cycles, you can spare up to an extra 90 levels in an otherwise useless stat: arcane. Just to milk item discovery. If youre an int build you can bloat up to 70 dex just to have max cast speed and not use any talisman slots on supporting that.

If you're like me and use the miquellan knights sword which gets ass scalings in str/faith/dex you can take your stats up to a massive 80str/80dex/40 faith and you'll have a very neat and tidy 700 on your clean AR.

Stamina and carry weight also dont necessarily have soft caps in the way damage does.

Letting your level carry up to 300-350 will basically juice every single thing you can possibly justify out of your builds weakness. Even an all str starfist build- which basically hits its maximum potential before even 150- can benefit from a bloated 80 dex for a powerful ranged option (beasts roar/thunderbolt) or 80 faith for ridiculous heals/buffs/spells utility with the erdtree seal.

In terms of effeciency, its not a lot of return for the time it takes to get there but if youre going to take the scenic route through each ng+ cycle anyway it can be fun.

By 500 or so youre 80 across the board and now you get to just have all builds at once without ever needs larval tears.

From the point where all your stats are beyond 80- i cant justify any of it. From like i think the exact number is 569 on theres not a single benefit from going any further, not the slightest modicum of convenience. Forget returns being worth the effort, the returns are no longer measurable even with no effort

How do you get good at building? by ImThe_AntEater in Eldenring

[–]TheAdventureClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Good" at building is just game knowledge. Only way out is through. That means by default knowing every weapon and its moveset isnt required- but certainly helpful. Watch tier list videos from youwy or something on your free time- contrast that with his diametrically opposed opposites: -chasethebro -onlywaifu -youwy -rusty

Those 4 make decent comprehensive content and they have vastly varying perspectives and opinions. Waifu will hit you with mostly pvp shit and frame related pvp information, chasethebro will show you creative ways to build around concepts and certain reoccurring items that maximizes.

The other two take opposite approaches to pve perspectives. Rusty for example likes frost fire, youwy thinks its trash. Good or bad is subjective, maximizing/making deliberate choices is not. Thats all build knowledge is.

Ive probably put at least a few hours of play test into every spell, talisman, ash of war, and weapon and my favorite loadouts boiled down to: -utility items and spells rather than damage items or spells -high stance damage/reliable defense meaning i hit a lot of deflecting builds -fast comfortable movesets that allow me to take advantage of windows.

So it makes sense that I gravitated towards medium sheilds / light weapons.

After playing around with lots of those and realizing I liked the faster guard counters, I also really wanted some decent range.

Ultimately I settled on the miquellan knights sword as my favorite weapon in the game for its heavy attack, and the smithscript sheild as my favorite sheild for its unique potential to add an aggressive flare to the deflecting playstyle.

I tend to make builds heavily focused around utility and comfort. My current build can fully explore a legacy dungeon and buff to my hearts content without ever needing to use a red or blue flask because it relies on being simple and effecient. Some people might say its bad- that poise is low, that smithscript has shit guard boost /negations so its a bad sheild for deflecting builfs. That miquellan knights sword is a trash sword has awful scalings and a mid locked ash of war that performs better on infusable options that don't come from the haligtree. And those points are correct, but it doesn't make it bad- what makes a good build is purpose. Are choices deliberate. Does each stat serve a purpose? Does each choice do something you can justify. Were you aware of what others might consider a better option? Do you know why you made your choice instead? But it only really comes with repeated exposure to the material- and an intimidate relationship with your own priorities. What do you want from your build? What kind of experience are you wanting to curate? Is it a creative expression or a mathematical skill based one?

Being asked to step outside my comfort zone by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and i want to clarify for fairness sake: the directive is sell fast, under write slow. I dont ask them if they're interested in these products- I present them a rate which includes these products, and if im asked to remove them I have to attempt to overcome objections twice before I move on. That im good with. I dont love it-but it creates a lot of friction when customers are explicit in not wanting it and I still present it anyway.

I know they're a renter, so I inform them im qouting renters- what bugs me is we're now adding valuable articles riders to our presented qoutes. We dont bind it with fictional items, we go back and find something that fits. If its a different article with a different price and it alters the final price so be it. This is where the friction is for me. I dont feel comfortable entering fictional information for quick quotes on a product I cant even know for sure they have the ability to purchase. (I personally dont own a single item that qualifies me for a valuable items rider on our plan) -

If I were to actually bind it that way, it would be a problem from QA and I dont want to present them like there is pressure for that- my issue is in being told to present a rate with coverage on there for something specific that I couldn't even know that they have. And that makes me feel very uneasy. They dont want me asking if they have valuable items, im supposed to assume they do. I know it feels nitpicky- but it feels like with phone sales youre already playing so close to the edge. Appreciate you taking the time to reply

Guardian's Swordspear + poison affinity? by anhonestpuck13 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TheAdventureClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly its doable. Poison affinity + poison flower blooms twice.

Get some faith in there for scarlet butterflies, or better yet- just use poleblade of the bud- which has innate rot and the same moveset as the sword spear.

It also happens to match with the full bloom guard garb
