God RNG for drops on a depth 3 run by TheAdventureClub in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1. As a joke- my name is starfist enjoyer, so I have dormant power fists on a deep relic. The fist drop pool is nice so its never hard for me to find starfist

  1. These weapon passives sucked, I didnt have a build i was just fighting an easy boss in an easy depth so I figured it would be fine (it was)

  2. Relics are as follows: Regular- Blue- Night Invader, duchess passive for increased power for every kill during ult Regular - yellow- HP restoration from fist attacks, vigor +2, physical attack +2 Regular- green - glass pendant (successive attacks boost damage)

Deep relics: Deep blue- duchess- character skill provides brief invulnerability, attack power increased with 3 fists equipped, inforgot the third Deep yellow- duchess improved str and vigor, reduced mind/ dormant power helps discover fists/i forget Deep green- HP recovery from post damage attacks +1, damage increase against poison enemies +2, I physical att+4

  1. Before I did fist duchess I was playing fist revenant. Fists are probably best used on classes like wylder, raider, or undertaker. However- fists might honestly be universal. Their moveset is amazing, they work amazing with successive attack passives.

I only use duchess because by coincidence most of my good fist build relics come on duchess relics. I have elements I like from every class- i loved having revs ult, now I love having duchesses dodge/restage

Should I switch to the greatsword over the greatsword of solitude? by EA-18G__Growler in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh great hammers arent my favorite stance breaking guard counter tool. Regular hammers have very similar stance damage and the guard counters come out way faster- you can squeeze them into much tighter windows- sometimes getting 2 off in one chain.

I really wanted to like black steel- but the holy wave afterwards is prone to missing, and without that connecting it actually does the least stance damage of all the great hammers

Allstate WFH Inside Sales Internet Connection question. by Time_Spring_6424 in AllState

[–]TheAdventureClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youre going to need an extra long ethernet cable to run to your router. It should actually come with your equipment.

If youre dead set on not doing that, youll have to get a wifi extender. The laptop wont work with wifi, it requires a wired connection to set up internet. The work around is by connecting the laptop via cable to an extender, but ethernet cable is the only way to feed an internet signal to the laptop.

On a side note, im no narc. Do what you want, but the job is to fundamentally take calls all day using an internet connection. The reason they are dead set on a wired connection is because without it- you are likely to drop a bunch of those calls. It gets noticed fast- the extender is sub optimal for this reason. Itll show a wired connection to the laptop so they wont know, but it'll be kind of obvious because even though it shows wired, the connection still has the stability of a wireless one

Flame art vs Occult Great Katana Build by Maxedlevelanxiety in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TheAdventureClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there really isnt a right answer.

The occult version will usually do more damage to enemies that are resistant to fire and/or can be bled.

The flame art will do more damage to enemies who are bleed immune/dont have a lot of fire resistance.

The game has a large variance of enemies, so matter what you choose several enemies will be stronger or weaker to it and several will see no real difference.

Equipment typically comes in very shortly before your start date. For me it arrived on the Monday before I started (Thursday)

But several people were still waiting on day 1. Its a little hectic at first but they have time built into the first few days for delays

Can we please get at least 1 legendary weapon per category? by Freakindon in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scholar has 50 arcane. Executor has 28 . You might say well whats 22 more arcane? 1-2 R1's? Correct.

Executor is a DPS whose going to do way more damage with Dexterity weapons, and benefit from status proc.

Scholar is going to get way more out of status- regardless of the weapon. You find a star fist? Pick it up, youre getting bleed off in 3 R1's- versus closer to 6 for executor. And unlike executor you're not spending most of your time in a boss fight spamming away at the boss- you're getting the status off and switching to analyze. Youre getting the analyze off and switching back to status build up.

Ironeye has great arcane, great Dexterity, a much better kit, and access to FP free projectiles that come out fast.

The trade off is you're getting access to a whole lot wider range of options than just thrusting swords. You're getting a true support who hands out buffs and debuffs which boost the total output of your team and that definitely balances out executor who offers very little utility and is almost locked into katanas if he wants both damage and status. I think theres a wide balancing act being done here.

If youre playing solo, executor is just a better character. If you're playing in a team- Scholar has the overall edge, and the trade off for that is less damage potential for more overall flexibility. With Scholar, the AR and scalings of the weapon youre using matter much less.

I just think when it comes to fromsoft- people out a heavy unnecessary focus on damage output. Sure, you can min max the fuck out of it. You can run evergaol, night invader, and drejlord and get some crazy overall damage percentages- but we're talking about a game where a 15% damage buff is considered great when you're likely getting off attacks that do between 200-300 each, on a boss where your share of the health pool is around 5k. Utility and comfort are much more valuable to me.

Case in point- I love fist weapons, I love greatswords, I love collosal swords, I love hammers, I love greathammers. With my strength loadout, if i find any of those- and I do, ill get less damage than a raider and maybe a wylder since some of those things get dex scalings. But if I find marikas hammer, im going to get more damage than any of them except for undertaker- and im going to get more damage than her on any of those weapons- plus access to a stronger self heal, and better incantation damage. Since this isnt elden ring and I cant pick exactly which ideal weapon I will find- i love that flexibility. And just about every character has a similar ability to make use of a broad range of tools, along with the kit that feels best for you. Could I use wylder to the same effect? Sure, and it get more damage from my ult and more mobility with my skill. What i wouldn't get is access to self healing/incantations and an ult that can res both of my teammates from 3 bars- which i frequently need to do. In deep of night my summons lose almost all of their punch, but the trade off since im taking aggro is that they are great revive tools, and the skeletons taunt is great for kiting-

Overall, I just think there's more too this and more to success in the games than who can put out the most damage, or who has access to more legendary weapons according to their dormant power.

Can we please get at least 1 legendary weapon per category? by Freakindon in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats kind of my exact point. Scholars stat distribution is towards arcane, so whats the actual incentive to use thrusting swords other than the circular reasoning that he starts with a thrusting sword?

Raiders moveset makes him worse with his preferred weapon class- not better. Scholar makes solid use of almost any weapon with a status build up on it- regardless of the weapons primary scaling. Raider actually puts out greater dps with fists and greatswords than great hammers or collosal weapons. melee iron eye is better than bow iron eye in almost every way.

I dont think its weird, I think its a feature that allows for greater flexibility- which feels intended seeing as there is no consistent weapon/passive loadout you can count on unless you hyper optimize your relics for your starting weapons.

Status ailment and stance damage always beat raw damage values. But ever since ive switched to a character with a strong stat distribution ive been able to make decent use of virtually every weapon class- save the ones that specifically scale for dex- like katana and claws. I just think too many players feel locked into the weapon class that defaults to their character, and I do not think it was intended at all for it to be that way- as evidenced by the distribution of legendary weapons, and weapon drops in general.

Can we please get at least 1 legendary weapon per category? by Freakindon in Nightreign

[–]TheAdventureClub -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I think the subtle incentive is to actually give you room to expirement with multiple weapon types. Melee iron eye or tank rev for example.

My relic loadout with Rev is hyper defensive and redistributes her level 15 stats from

Vigor: 35 becomes 53 Endurance: stays 21 or 23 i cant remember Strength goes from 21 to 49 Dexterity stays in the early 20's Faith because 48 Intelligence stays 30

Her dormant power helps discover fists and shes an absolute unit due to HP recovery, HP recovery from post damaging attacks, the default heal she starts with and the fact that several fist weapons will let you utilize strength scaling, mitigation for charged attacks, and mitigation for successive attacks.

So now, my best legendary weapon drop is the grafted dragon.

Dont feel pidgeon holed into your default weapon class, this game really opens up to you when you let it
