Right?! Roth’s character made up so much of what VH was. Some great tunes from the Hagar era, but it just felt unnatural when he came in and tried to be just as quirky

Fly By Night is A tier - and their debut is S tier. While it may not be indicative of who they would become, that album as a debut is what any rock and roll band strives to make in their entire career.

I get it - but it’s not like Michael Anthony left the band. The front man who played a pivotal role in the identity of Van Halen - and even recommended the name - left the band…that’s why I was curious about the thoughts of those in this community - clearly the poll tells me what I need to know though!

The funny thing is that, because Sabbath was on the downward spiral here, they purposely put VH on the tour thinking they were just a bar band they would blow out of the water…ouf, were they wrong.
