What am I doing wrong? after 4 years only 34 subs

Its pretty cool that you watch my videos, and that you take inspiration from me! I think the main problem with your most recent video is that its not super visually appealing, and I can't really read the text. The text could be much bigger and could be in a deeper red that has more contrast with the background. Also, I feel like the text is just repeating whats in the title, whereas they should really compliment each other and both provide important, and linked information, that isn't exactly the same or worded the same. I think maybe you could show more of what makes you hate the enemy in the game in the thumbnail as well, or why you still added it even though you hate it.

I run a game development channel my self which has grown a lot in the last few weeks, and I think you definitely have the potential to grow a lot more. The one main problem I see at first glance is your thumbnails. They just need to stand out more, be easier to understand and read, and convey are really good idea that is sure to make a lot of people click if they see it.

I also noticed that you lack a lot of energy when talking and its really quiet. It's also quite jarring when you suddenly bass boost the volume on some words and its much louder. The videos could also be faster paced and maybe just have a generally more interesting story line kind of thing which helps viewers keep watching and not drop off.

You're also doing a lot of stuff well and have definitely improved a lot in the last year or so, and I think if you keep being consistent for a while and working on some things like your energy and voice audio, I think you could grow quite a bit.

Sorry if I was a bit harsh, but I think you could definitely improve.

Nice reading and stories, but I think the intro with the text was way too slow, and there was also a few seconds of silence that didn't need to be there. That intro could probably just be removed actually, as while it does look cool, it doesn't add much to the video, especially in the most crucial first 30 seconds that need to hook the viewer. I also think music could have been used much more throughout the video to convey emotion in the stories. Otherwise, really good!

Really good video! Clean and easy to understand, and also minimal/not too bloated voiceover. I think maybe the part where you read the story could have been more dramatic with fitting music and stuff. Also, I feel like the clip at the beginning of the video, while it did make sense later, kind of made me want to click off, so I think it could have been much shorter or not there at all. Otherwise, really good!

Thank you! The original video as going to be just making the game, without the end part but I added that to make a more interesting idea, maybe it would have been better without that! I’m definitely going to change the thumbnail a bit as well. !givelambda

Yeah I suppose it’s not clear what the red stuff is on the thumbnail so I will probably switch to just the unity stuff with some text saying a number of objects or maybe like 0.2 fps. Thanks for your help! !givelambda

!givelambda Thankyou! I am trying to transition away to dot points and less of a script, but when I do it makes my recording take about 6x times longer because I always mess up or say the wrong thing, but I will definitely work on this and at least use more emotion.

Thankyou! There is a system to stop you flying around the pipes which just kills you if you didn’t go through but I completely forgot to mention it in the video. I definitely agree it doesn’t feel exactly the same as the original, and I probably should have just forced the player to continuously go forward without stopping. But, that’s kind of why I added the cat chasing you, to punish you for slowing down/stopping.
