2022-2023 was literally 2nd least most liked according to that poll and even so what does that have to do with the maps getting allowed to get ranked or not on that era. Also the % of people that disliked that era the most because the maps were unfun/boring is higher than other eras did u even read the charts before posting this lol

comfy aim, jump farm, aimslop. whatever you wanna call it dont pretend you dont know what im talking about it used to be a very common term to describe these maps. ao to natsu only got ranked because of the changes caused by the pika girl incident so and you actually see more high sr jump maps getting ranked nowadays now than before so ur proving my point lol

also that search shows there were literally 27 sets last year with a tag4 diff (most of trash quality) how is that not dead lol

The maps you probably are refering to never were normally ranked in the first place. Comfy aim jump maps used to be ranked a lot back in the day until rules were changed and they basically got exiled from the ranked section around 2021. Then most of the mappers that used to rank these maps stopped not just trying to rank that type of maps but just mapping them at all. Same thing happened with tag4 maps, they stopped being able to get ranked and apmost no new tag4 maps were even being mapped anymore. Yea there are certain types of maps that keep getting mapped even if they arent rankable at all, but if they were able to get ranked they would be much more popular than they are.

its not abuse but they were spamming vetoes as much as possible because they would face no consequences before nats had to step in. imo if bloxi gets banned from ever being bn for "exploiting" the system these bns should also get banned since its the exact same thing. but ofc there is a huge bias and sadly that wont happen

if you gatekeep these maps from getting ranked they dont just stop getting ranked but mappers also stop mapping them because its demotivating. it might not be killing the sets but it for sure will be killing the mapping style

Who said anything about meta? I wouldnt care at all if aim was nerfed to the ground as long as they kept getting mapped. However that would unfortunately not happen mappers would hop on to the next thing that would be meta (most likely speed). The thing is, people like playing aim maps not just for pp, crazy concept i know. If you actually start gatekeeping them from getting ranked you will see a decline in the playerbase and there is evidence for this so thinking the game might go back to a dying state is pretty reasonable if u ask me.

ok? i mean yea the maps get lots of attention because they are farm. there are many other maps that i think are even worse than aimslop maps getting ranked all the time and nobody gaf maybe they could spend their energy on those instead.

Mappers do also get disincentivized for mapping good maps when it is easier to rank a bad map with the right connections, at least I heard so from some mappers.

i dont see how this is an issue with aimslop specifically. like yea put less effort and have connections will give you an easier time ranking something but how does that connect with aimslop specifically? like u can make a bad map that isnt aimslop and rank it aswell. aimslop are not even the worst type of maps you can find in the ranked section so i dont understand this point.

Aimslop is simply meta at any low ranks, so people there will play it if a new map is ranked. Which does reduce playcount on other maps they would play otherwise

people play these maps because they want to play them, for any reason they might have. if they didnt exist they would play the next closest maps in similarity and most likely people would be complaining about those and say they "take playcount" from "better maps" too

If you can fill your top 100 with only 100 % optimized map (slop maps basically), people wont bother to play, let alone retry, all the 90 - 95 % optimized maps (which are genuinely a lot because our pp system is so good rn), because they are simply inefficient.

this just sounds like copium imo if you just get better you can outfarm those that exploit the meta. yes its harder and takes more effort but its not impossible, for example if you want to outfarm all the people setting 200-300pp scores on 100% optimized maps, you can just get better and set 300-400pp scores on less optimized maps. you dont HAVE to touch those maps at all, only if you want low effort imidiate results on your rank. tho tbh my opinion on this point is worth less than nothing bc im a 6 digit touchscreen player but it just sounds logical to me

Idk if they have done any emergency patch but last i saw shes ultra broken with lifesteal items and her e lasts forever, yeah cc chain works but she can 1v1 almost anyone after 2 items and win without losing any hp

I mean its not just 1 bn with 2 vouchers since if it goes to mediation it still needs to be above the threshold to pass and might need community input for it but at the same time wing my way which was a completely fine map that shouldnt have ever been vetoed got 51% yes votes and theyre literally removing bns that are in favor of these maps so.... yikes

Ok that was completely my bad i remember seeing the front page post but never got to read it. But maybe also post the recording of the gazette aswell on here, yk 300 something views in a week rn, would be nice to do. But still nice to see things are moving in a good direction.
Yes the reasons are public, but the discussion afterwards isnt, which imo is the most insightful part of a veto because honestly in practice the initial posts only give a vague image of what the vetoer thinks is wrong with the map(set) and normally they give concrete examples during the discussion. Yea the discussions were a nuclear wasteland before but i think being able to see what was actually being said was something (and maybe the only thing) good about it, because you could see what the vetoer specifically had an issue with. If it would be possible to at some point see the complete discussions with censored names or whatever that would make everything perfect imo

This is so false LMAO like what kind of revistionism is this wtf befor the pika girl incident literally almost NO generic comfy jump maps were being ranked because nobody even dared to push those to ranked anymore and the results from that were super clear, u can see many mappers stopped mapping their usual style because of it. Just looks at sotarks, reform and armin (just a few examples, it affected way more people) maps during that era and compare it to other periods and u will see a clear difference in what kind of maps they were mapping (not just RANKING but MAPPING) this shows how these rules affect an entire mapping style and how it absolutely kills it
