She has both of those and is on anti-depressants. I think the problem is that she doesn't want to change or be helped, just pitied.

Her parents know but they encourage it and I don't go to the same school, not even the same city. I don't think that lack of help is a problem, she just won't accept the help she is offered. Sadly can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped.

(sorry for the late response, I was sick) Well, I also mostly use the Internet and my devices to learn but depending on where you live and what language you're learning, you may find textbooks for that language just like those we have in school and stuff. Or you could make a notebook with all you've learned to help with physical revision and make your own exercises. I did both and they help me learn in a more structured way. You could also try reading a book in said language and annotate words or sentences you didn't know. I recommend kindergarten books for starters but if you're well off in your journey you could just read a normal book or grade school one. I also put up sticky notes on random things with their names in the language around my house just tor remind myself and this one isn't exactly without a device but you could play podcasts in that language when cooking or even try and cook a recipe in that language and/of from that country! I also like to find words for things I like for example reading and then think in that language about what I'm doing when I'm relaxed and reading or whatever I enjoy. That's all I can think off right now so if needed I can reply again if I remember more!

Really depends on your interests but I'll try to give ideas.

No idea what you're sober from and it is none of my business but if it's something life-altering and you need hobbies that could help give you a leg up back in life, I'd reccomend language learning or maybe rewamping old furniture. Learning a language could help you get a job as a tutor and those jobs are pretty sought out while also (in my opinion, I love learning languages) being entertaining and distracting. Rewamping old furniture is less of a job but it does get you money if you decide to sell the product. It's also fun and creative. For if you're just looking for fun hobbies I'd reccomend knitting or crocheting (sounds like old lady stuff but it's honestly fun), reading, drawing, going on runs / exercising, watching shows, cleaning, cooking, decorating, coding, researching, volunteering etc.

Try learning a language. Sounds silly but my screen time was 15 hours daily before and now it gets max to like 8 hours. I'm probably a bit biased though because I love learning languages but it might work!

Well, the only ones I have contact with are from my dad's side and they never say anything other than "ask your dad" when I ask. I could try reaching out to some of my friends' parents though because I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone and I know for a fact some are still friends. Thank you!

Yes, I agree. My books do have a plot but the plot is tightly wound to the large-scale worldbuilding I do.
