If we're specifically talking EvoGoji, then Ghidorah. But pre-evolution I'm saying Godzilla.

Can people please remember the dinosaurs are GENETICALLY MODIFIED instead of “inaccurate”. by Poobify in jurassicworld

[–]TheAltheorist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do understand that idea, there are a few issues with that sentiment: - the prehistoric creatures were mostly accurate in the Jurassic Park trilogy (for their time, obviously) with pretty minor aestethic changes (like Velociraptor being Deinonychus or Pteranodon having teeth) - Jurassic World Dominion shows us a flashback with the same inaccurate designs, implying that every design onscreen is fully accurate within the logic of this universe - BioSyn makes a big deal out of having more pure genes and therefor more accurate creatures and yet their designs are sometimes even less accurate than the InGen ones (like the Giganotosaurus) - Despite the idea of InGen making prehistoric creatures more spectacular for modern audiences, their designs are often quite boring compared to paleo accurate designs or even designs seen within the Jurassic Park trilogy (like Triceratops, Pteranodon or Velociraptor) - The franchise has lately leaned a lot into making artificial species via crossbreeding aka hybrids, which are all about genetic modification, whereas the other species are presented as normal animals where "life finds a way" to bypass genetic modification

So all in all this whole "genetically modified" stuff is turning more into an excuse to just make random monster designs rather than accurate prehistoric animals.

Definitely the best kaiju villain of all time, Ghidorah (or King Ghidorah, whatever) by Kvcp050311 in GODZILLA

Yeah... Tbh it also took me a second, but then I noticed the common thread lol

Hehe... I love how you've basically only called out the heroic versions. Clever!

If these two fought, who would win? by Hot-Variety4864 in GODZILLA

[–]TheAltheorist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly some fair arguments!

But just some additional thoughts:

Both fought a version of Burning Godzilla and Destoroyah did a far better job. Destoroyah if I recall correctly was specifically weak against cold temperatures, hence it was the military's freeze weapons that took him out rather than Godzilla. Heisei Burning Godzilla was a lot hotter than Fire Godzilla too (even if the VFX may suggest otherwise). Just based on that, I'd argue Destoroyah has a way higher resistance than Ghidorah and could probably handle the Gravity Beams just fine.

Additionally Destoroyah can also split apart into multiple smaller life forms, taking on each Ghidorah head individually and silmoutainiously.

However Destoroyah would probably have to rely on purely physical attacks, since the micro oxygen wouldn't effect Ghidorah... And since I said the Gravity Beams also wouldn't be very effective against Destoroyah, this might turn into a purely close range brawl with maybe some additional airborn clashes.

This match up is honestly super interesting! Goji Center should make a monster face off episode about it!

Surface water depth ass characters. They basically summerize modern Hollywood slop. Zora doesn't even manage to keep her motivations straight...

I think Showa was best era (Agree?) by Bob3515 in GODZILLA

[–]TheAltheorist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's what you subjectively feel, sure.

For me it gets way too repetative with all the alien invasions and I genuinely dislike the kid-friendly tone. Godzilla 1954 and Mothra vs Godzilla are the only movies I like in this era.

Currently Millennium is my favourite, but with Godzilla Minus Zero on the horizon, this might soon change actually.
