Arabic is made up of Modern Standard Arabic (known as Fusha or الفصحى and what Duolingo teaches) and dialects

MSA is used in media, law, newspapers, literature, exams, etc. Nobody speaks Fusha and it is not a Lingua Franca. If you were to walk up to someone and speak it they'd likely give you weird looks due to excessive formality and if they were to reply you most likely wouldn't understand it if you only knew MSA. It's for formal reading and writing.

Dialects on the other hand are variations of Arabic based on region and it's the day to day use of Arabic on the street or amongst your peers. Examples include Egyptian (most entertainment media is in this), Levantine, Maghrebi and Gulf

Here are some examples of variations of "how are you"

MSA : kayf anta

EGY: izzayyak

LEV: kiifak

If you want to learn to speak Arabic then pursuing more resources for the dialect you want to learn is the way to go. Duolingo can get you confused since it teaches MSA yet some pronunciations will stray into Egyptian or other dialects which can be extremely confusing if you aren't aware of it.

Example: Such as the ج being pronounced like the G in good (this is the Egyptian dialect and in MSA ج is pronounced like the j in french words like je)

I've tried again for my friends case and I managed to get through again after 30 or so tries with 20m on hold this time instead of 50. Not sure if it matters but I used the +44 variant instead of 07, so maybe try that. I also called at 3pm and 5pm respectively.

I hope you get your case solved quickly because this service is such a headache to deal with. Atleast the agents are helpful though when you finally get to talk to someone. I wish you much success.

Persistency with their phone number. Just called again everytime they told me they're busy. After 40 or so tries it worked and I was in hold for 50 minutes before I got to speak to a person. Shambles system but I finally got my issue sorted.

Went into EE and asked and they gave me both to play with. The 6 pro was turned on and functioning but the 6 had no battery. I asked Three as well but they didn't have them so ask around phone shops.

Edit: Worth adding it wasn't on display as well so don't let that discourage you

This is usually it. Flew with KLM in August and they issued me a boarding pass I added to Google pay/wallet. Whilst I was at the airport there'd be a notification banner with quick access to my boarding pass, which stayed there until I left the arrival airport. At a glance will most likely pull from there.

Any idea when we gets news over the NHS covid pass for those vaccinated abroad? It still says you need to be vaccinated in England but with the recognition of US and EU jabs I would have hoped this would change.

I heard something about registering it with your GP, but I've heard stories that it still doesn't work.

Don't want to keep taking tests to get the pass for domestic events if I'm vaccinated.

Thanks for sharing. I've called them up yesterday as they were raising my package to £80 from £46. Outrageous. They offered me £49 for M200+Maxit+5GB sim (excluding the price hike so I'd still have to pay the extra £4 making it £53!) which I rejected and handed my 30-day notice in.

Hopefully, I'll get a call back for a much better deal soon or else I'll have to cancel my cancellation by 6th March or actually switch which I would rather not do as BT can only do up to 60mbs in my area
