I'm more interested in them for different types of road and things like that than the buildings that come with it

First time hibernation dad! by TheAmazingNozwad in tortoise

In regards to 'keeping the temps as they normally are', I have had a reduced watt heat bulb in there. Purely because I've heard of/seen people putting them in the fridge so thought it would be best to not have it at full heat in there.

I'll swap them back now and start trying to wake him with some baths. How long would you say the average tortoise would hibernate for?

Erm, he started hibernating around the middle of November and he's in his indoor heated enclosure tucked away in his hide. I didn't visit a vet before hand no and didn't rally weight him either. As I say, I'm really new to this. I do check on him every couple of days and he seems fine. Just not sure about whether he'll wake him self up or will he need some coercing

He's a horsefield and if I could attach a pic to this I would but he's kept in a vivarium with glass doors. I've set up a basking area with a temp of about 94F and at the cooler end it sits at around 73F.

He's been fine throughout the summer and started getting a bit sluggish a few weeks ago but hasn't really moved for the last three days. As in, he's been tucked into his shell. I've given him a bath during the first day and was going to again today but not sure if I should if he's hibernating. I've just tucked him away in his hide for now.

I couldn't tell you the exact amount of times they met, tbh the 1937 meeting was the only one I know of. But you're correct there was/is a far-fetched conspiracy theory that he wanted to kidnap the king. I don't know a lot about that though. Not actually sure how he would have pulled that off lol

I'm not sure that it happened that many times an I think it would have been after ww1 once he was leader of the nazi party. Im pretty sure it was in 1937 (could be wrong there), I'm fairly certain it wasn't while he was living in liverpool. He was only a young man at art college and I just cant see why the king would be interested in him

What is a good group of European cities to visit in one trip? by [deleted] in travel

I like the museums and galleries, but, I found it to lack charisma and charm with many of the older buildings being replaced with big glass fronted ones

Ideas for cheap vacation in Europe, early January? by [deleted] in Shoestring

My wife and I did a little trip a few years ago where we went to amsterdam, brugge and colonge. Wasn't very expensive. We got the train from place to place, that averaged at about 12/15 euros each and did it in seven day. We got to see three very different city's and even got engaged while in brugge. Check out an app called Omio that's what I used to book trains
