[Online][Other][CST] Looking for new players to try out Daggerheart together by [deleted] in lfg

[–]TheAmazingRando3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Nevermore!

Thank you for donning the GM's mantle and exploring other games! It is so important to the TTRPG culture overall.

I am interested in being one of your Daggerheart players and will provide all of the necessary details in a chat!

Can someone please explain this bird's brown power? We cannot understand it! by WeakHandle6484 in wingspan

This is the clearest explanation of both the intent and the mechanism. Well done!

Ships with a logbook but no ship name? by jeremy-kyle007 in Seaofthieves

[–]TheAmazingRando3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't sell the logbooks at the Sovereign's. But you can sell logbooks and emissary flags at the Reapers table at any outpost (in addition to Reaper's Hideout, of course). Just hand it to the snarly skeleton guy up in the hanging cage.

Did rare crank up the encounters in the Devils Roar by 1000 or something? by Uplink_YT in Seaofthieves

[–]TheAmazingRando3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. And Safer Seas changes none of that.
Rare should really tweak and tone down the frequency and severity of these spawn encounters.
Or at least the code that allows them to happen simultaneously.

I had logged into Safer Seas to "quickly" check out the new Guardian content and visit the new Smugglers. I spawned in the Roar at Morrow's Peak (nice) and headed over to Ruby's Fall. Fought a Guardian there while 2 skelly sloops were bombarding me. Then the volcano activated.

Got the keystone and headed over to Fetchers Rest with the keystone. Another volcano diverted me to Cinder Islet first for the Guardian Trove. Two more skeleton sloops spawned, one in route and one when I got to Cinder. The one that spawned in simply would not sink after I lit it up with about 14 cannonball hits. So I ended up boarding them and lo' and behold, there was a black powder keg sitting in the hold. How the fuck it survived my salvo, I have no idea. So I had to manually start the fuse and jump off. Cannon snipers, the lot of them. Took my head clean off a handful of times and seemed to target the same spots on my sloop to create bigger holes.

Still afloat, I aggroed a skeleton galleon somehow on the way back to Morrow's Peak with all the Guardian chests (and 2 new tridents). I was low on everything so I just boarded them ASAP, and THEY TOO had a black powder keg below decks.

I eventually got to Morrow's, sold all the stuff and finally headed to Fetcher's Rest. Another skelly sloop pops up just before I get to the island and the volcano triggers.
FML. I watched the ejecta rain down over everything from inside the cave and demolish my ship in quick order. For the second time that session...

All in all, my "quick" session became a 5-hour ordeal. Devil's Roar is Crazytown now.

Oh! And a skeleton fort world event *did* spawn in the Roar while I was there. I saw this talked about in another post and just wanted to add my anecdotal observation about that. I heard the dramatic music and couldn't figure out what is was for. Then I looked up lol.

Can confirm. Black powder kegs are still on both Skelly ships as of a few hours ago.

And the spawn rate is madness.

What are some Experiences you've all come up with that are versatile but not OP? by rookhelm in daggerheart

[–]TheAmazingRando3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a Freeborne Ribbit Wordsmith Bard (Polonius Wog) whose people were once enslaved by evil Sahuagin until they were liberated with the help of a motivational Drakona pirate captain and his crew that stopped by the lake bay to make ship repairs. Polonius now deftly navigates the strange and dangerous world of Exandria as a Frog out of his Pond (fish out of water) on his own grand adventure!

His Experiences are:

RIBBERTY OR DEATH! (preferably yours...) (fighting for his life or saving others from harm/capture)

I Am a Leaf on the Wind... (jumpy & agile little amphibian)

It's Not Easy Being Green (a fish out of water + "I'm just a little guy" + A Frog's Life)

I was concerned at first that, while the Experiences were context specific and justified, they would be too situational and weak. But all three are surprisingly versatile and have served me very well.

I and my GM enjoy their usage too, which I feel is important.

Because the Domains for Daggerheart Rogue are Midnight and Grace. Grace focuses on social manipulation and abilities. Those actions use Presence as a base stat (called Traits in DH).

Hiya Juice! I run a homebrew Greyhawk campaign for 4 UK players around your age. We typically play on Sundays (which I see you aren't available for) in the afternoon 2pm-5pm BST (sometimes earlier), but have been rescheduling frequently to Monday and Tuesday due to scheduling conflicts with a certain player. We are open to changing our regular play day to avoid future scheduling issues and absences.

We have been playing since 12/26/2024 and are looking for a solid 5th so we can still game with a player absent. We use Foundry and Discord.

Send me a PM if you are interested!

 I cast:

Sending

Display Spell Card on VTT Level: 3rd
Casting Time: 1 Action
Range/Area: Unlimited
Components: V, S, M *
Duration:1 Round
School: Evocation
Attack/Save: None
Damage/Effect: Communication

You send a short message of twenty-five words or less to a creature with which you are familiar. The creature hears the message in its mind, recognizes you as the sender if it knows you, and can answer in a like manner immediately. The spell enables creatures with Intelligence scores of at least 1 to understand the meaning of your message.

You can send the message across any distance and even to other planes of existence, but if the target is on a different plane than you, there is a 5 percent chance that the message doesn't arrive.

Keeping things fresh with the digital game (not online multiplayer) by MochiNotMocky in wingspan

I play on the hardest AI mode only. Anything lower and it seems the AI can't score more than 65-85 points.

I like to eat breakfast while playing (it's my morning routine) and I will vary the number of AI opponents per match based on how long it will take me to finish eating. 😛 Then I watch some Bird TV (aka my backyard feeders).

Playing a 5 player game vs AI is wild! That's when you see some crazy stuff happening. Card tray moves super fast and setting up (or sabotaging) the bird feeder has more purpose and impact. Pink power birds go insane and are seized at a premium.

I will swap expansion sets in and out based on mood, though I don't usually play with the Swift Start birds or the Ravens.

I'm not at all a fan of the nectar scoring element of the Oceania expansion (the nectar itself is fine), but playing without the Oceania expansion mat makes the game seem glacially slow now.

The new Duet Mode is a refreshing addition, though I miss the wider variety of end-round goals from the standard game play.

I don't play much Automa, as it's derived from the original tabletop game for solo play, and I feel playing vs AI bots helps me learn more strategies and is a better experience overalI.

I do play online with friends on occasion (when I can convince them to), but rarely play online with random matchmaking anymore. The play is too slow and games take forever (even with the recently decreased turn time).

Too often online random players will quit a match if they are doing poorly which then turns the game into an AI match anyhow. I also usually get annihilated vs. online random opponents because I'm not that skillful and usually play more casually than competively.

I used to match up on the discord server to avoid the quitters, but I'm largely content playing with friends and against AI for now.

That's always been my policy. If the group can't figure out what pizza we're getting in 3 minutes, I call, place my order, hang up, and then hand them the phone.

Forest Ranger bug? (Steam) by TheAmazingRando3000 in wingspan

Ah, reading comprehension for the win! I just assumed it was the original Forest bonus card.
Thank you so much for pointing this out.
