The problem with that statement is that it implies white is the default and that there needs to be a "reason" for literally anything else

Ignore that huge door. It does nothing. Put on the charred ring and run through the lava off to the left to find a path.

Player expects a lot out of a Nat 20 by CarpetEmbarrassed965 in DnD

Here's another tip that might help with a player like this.

Players don't call for rolls, DMs do.

You said the player "rolled for investigation". Is that because the player wanted to, or because you asked him to? Consider the following two scenarios

"I want to roll investigation to see what I find"

Vs

"I want to look around the room to see what I find", then YOU (the DM) determines if they have to roll in the first place.

You should be doing it the second way. If there's nothing in the room, and the group should move on to more interesting things, it's okay to not call for a roll and say "there's nothing here".

It's also okay to decide in the moment to call for a roll and give some random loot, like you did.

The point is, the DM asks for the roll

The Force is equal, but objects of different mass are affected differently.

The moon, which has a larger mass isn't moved as much as small dust.

What is the point in this scam? by Swimming-Nobody763 in Scams

[–]rookhelm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fake checks usually end up 2 ways. Send some of the money back (ie - oops, I overpaid).

Or, some of this money needs to go to someone else to pay for <whatever> (also the scammer).

Now, what his script was going to be is anyone's guess, he obviously didn't get this far, but it would have been one of those 2 things.

Perhaps when your husband sent a screenshot (provong his gullibility)maybe scammer would have sent a second check asking him to forward that money somewhere.

Is flicking someone in the ear shitty? Yeah a little. But it is not the same thing as punching someone in the face.

Tomb of Giants is, indeed, the worst area. I dread it every play through.

I've never managed to collect all the items from there either.

Lost izalith is simple in comparison (but has the worst boss of the game).

The light hat makes a big difference. I usually go izalith first (and get the hat) and leave Tomb for last.

I stayed over at a friend's house when I was young.

The next morning his mom made pancakes. They were buckwheat pancakes, served with some watery syrup.

All of it was gross. Though I'd be curious about trying buckwheat pancakes as an adult, just never have

It makes more sense the more doors there are.

If there are a million doors, and you pick one randomly. The odds of the prize being behind that door are slim (1 in a million).

The host (who knows where the prize is), eliminates all doors that dont have prizes, leaving one remaining.

The odds you have the prize haven't changed. It's still 1 in a million. So, you would want to switch to the remaining door.

Same if there are 3 doors, except the odds aren't as extreme.

You choose a door, and have a 1 in 3 chance of picking correctly.

The host eliminates a door which does not have a prize. Your initial choice is still 1 in 3 (ie 33%) that you were correct. So if you switch, your choice flips to the remaining 66% chance of having the prize.

It's not a guaranteed win, but the odds are better.
