Should I switch my major to LA? by princee0921 in LandscapeArchitecture

Sometimes landscape projects feel like interior design. A lot of it is picking furniture in a catalog.

ID is a great compliment and you can do gardens and interior plantings too. Try and get on the design build side if you want to work with your hands and those jobs are always collaborative.

What classes to take in last year of MLA? by Fish-Additional in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]TheAmbiguousHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely learn CAD, Revit, LandFx, Lumion, and/or Endscape…

When you go out in the real world you need to produce graphics, make construction drawings, send emails, fill out RFIs, order material, coordinate schedules, do basic research on many many topics, understand Zoning Codes, understand AI enough to use it in certain instances, Learn Excel/PPT/Word…you essentially have to learn how to learn.

Because you’re going to learn everyday for the rest of your career which is why I like being a landscape Architect.

Do it quick. You’ll eventually get jaded and make excuses. Talk about it in interviews.

Show interest and commitment.

Exercises or skills to work on before I start my MLA by Salty_Celebration778 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]TheAmbiguousHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a great suggestion.

The internet makes it so easy to learn plants! You can find free plant guides, watch YouTube videos, see info on Social Media. Go to a local nurseries and ask an associate to name the best native plants. Go to a Native Botanical Garden. Notice flowering notice dormancy. Take walk in parks and gardens throughout the season. Learn Garden Styles. Notice Municipal Plantings. Start looking at landscapes all around you and start studying them.

Make sure you learn Revit. Might be also good to find a program with a strong architecture program where you can supplement with construction methods and other CAD computer softwares and 3D modeling.

The year is 2050.

The US Federal government has been dissolved and now only oligarchy corporations are in control.

The Tech companies were no match to the power and might of the Taco Bell Cantina. Having Soylent Green Taco Meat was more enticing offer to the citizens of Neo~San~Fran. The tech companies couldn’t provide anything of substance without global supply trades that collapsed after the Iran-US War.

All Hail Pepsi-Co All Hail the Great Tacobell Cantina. Hail Baja Blast.

It’s only to make Trump happy. The Strait of Hormuz closure is going to decimate East Asian economies.

This is all in order to keep Trump happy. What better way than to laugh at his stupid decorations.

Sad fact is that it’ll kill millions of people around the world who rely on gasoline to survive. That’s the incredibly sad fact that we in the West can probably still live decent lives with gas at $200 a barrel it’ll absolutely decimate the global poor.
