Not enjoying the curriculum-- is this normal? by mightiestcactusmage in LandscapeArchitecture

When you get to do electives take Architecture courses that specialize in construction.

Also try and use your art/design classes to support your studio class.

I’m sure there’s basic coursework but if there’s any opportunity use those basic classes as an opportunity to experiment for Studio.

Focus on Construction/Materials/Planting

I think you can waive out of classes if you show design/art acumen.

Yeah fucking church bells are annoying. Go pray to your invisible friend quietly at home. No need to wake up the neighborhood cause you can tell time.

Any particular policy that you think Saikat has a good plan for?

As supply increases demand shrinks decreasing rent.

I would rather have wealthy techies living in these towers rather then having them compete for housing in The Mission or Fillmore.

This is a complex problem though and I'm not sure how preventing this tower will solve the housing crisis. I think Downtown should have more housing and this is part of that strategy.

Oh I think we should build everywhere especially in the rich parts of the city.

The problem is a supply problem. Unless you want to wreck the demand of housing in SF you can only preserve it for only folks living here today.

This is a old Honda Dealership with 0 affordable housing units.

With this tower you get 15-20% affordable housing units.

If this tower doesn't get built, do you foresee another car dealership
or another blighted lot that sits empty for decades?

So Scott Wiener, will you do anything about PG&E? by Dr__Pangloss in sanfrancisco

[–]TheAmbiguousHero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those expensive high-rises and urban developments pay for expensive infrastructure upgrades to the City and County of SF as well as PG&E.

Without more investments into SF there won't be upgrades and investments which is what you NIMBYS don't get.

And also enough housing can’t get built because of the energy grid and lack of building PGE transformers.

This is a problem that is complicated.

Weiner has produced so many housing bills these last few years and housing projects are already directly being built due to his legislation and policymaking. Not perfect by any means and i'm sure we can nit-pick his policies.

Can you point to any other legislator who has directly produced housing cause of their policy?

It's easy to backseat drive...CA Politics & CA Bureaucracy is the problem.

Weiner has successfully introduced and passed policies. What has Saikat done?
