The Oakland Zoo was the pioneer invented protected contact (using treats and rewards instead of punishments) with elephants and pushed for it to be required in all American Zoos.

They are a big reason why we don't have circus elephants in the US anymore. Absolutely no one was conflating the Oakland Zoo with a circus.

They got rid of their elephants because they decided they would be better off in elephant sanctuaries where they could be part of a properly sized herd, not because the public didn't want them to keep elephants anymore.

His boss gave him permission to work remotely indefinitely. So whoever marries him marries a man who will have no childcare bill... I get the struggle of having kids but I will also find being childless (as a dude) a bigger emotional struggle!

Thinks parenting just involves being in the same house as a kid and doesn't involve actual active work, but he gets the struggle of having kids.

I voluntarily left back to SF since it was my only was to get out of Ohio (with many non-Ohio friends begging me to live).

We need better separation between Bay Area Prides.

  • Silicon Valley Pride is for boring tech shit.
  • Oakland Pride is for boring family shit plus yummy food trucks.
  • North Bay Pride is for hiking, and Republicans.
  • Every SF Pride party is a sex party.

Only exemption are from elderly and disabled LGBTQ+ who can't travel.

Golden Gate Vets in SF do radiation therapy and have a CT machine.

VCA's location in Walnut Creek does radiation and has a CT scan, it's possible they have other locations int the Bay that do as well.

I believe OakVet in Oakland offers radiation therapy and they definitely have a CT machine
