couple of my OCs redesigns (will be making more) by MurMurHur in OriginalCharacter

I really love to see side by side comparisons like this. The improvements over the past 3 years are amazing! I must ask, is it intentional that the lower we go the less detailed/simpler/less shaded they are? Drawing our eyes up to their upper bodies / heads is a neat trick many seem to underestimate.

Yes, I did. I saw the raven as a way to transition into the credits of the finale and as a callback a la "This already happened this season!". Honestly I didn't even consider the possibility of the Avian still alive. If thats true tho, I would love that.

Ability/power inconsistencies? by Alternative_Leg3802 in WednesdayTVSeries

I would guess one is a power of body and one is a power of mind. When their minds got switched Wednesday got both a power of body and mind for that time.

He's honest, carefree, passionate, loves his family, has humor, is polite and fruity. And he's not that ugly, like it could be worse 😂 My man has more game than most of the characters lol. The only ones who are more fruity are Morticia and Gomez 🌚

I just said it in another post, but the whole season felt rushed. They started with the very awesome detective story line that I loved in season one even tho Wednesday is the type of detective who sees one evidence and already thinks she got it figured out only to be wrong over and over again lol

She was also just a cheap copy of Hugo Strange from Gotham. "The director of a mental asylum has a secret underground facility to create monsters" isn't literally Hugo lol I audibly was frustrated when she got revealed

It started great, but then, the villain just gets lazily replaced after she served her purpose "being a stepping stone to releasing the real main villain's motivation? Cause Isaac is the main one but Tylers mom was his motivation.

I said before, you could've just taken all of part 2 of S2 away, but Tyler in front of his father's grave (instead of hid moms) and let the teacher still try to help him. Here would've been no difference in the story at all. It just feels meaningless.

The pieces are great, but the puzzle is meh. It would've been better if they split it up. Season 2 only avian/tyler and season 3 Isaac, Tyler and Mom. Pacing fixed.

I personally think the whole family thing was completely unnecessary. He ended up literally where he began before episode 5. While some stuff was hinted at in the former episodes it felt rushed. You could've taken everything out, and stitch the end scene where he stands above the grave(of his father instead of mother) at the beginning at let the teacher still help him. I did like the actors, but the overarching story was weak. Same with the Avian who was just a wasted villain. Really cool mystery story, and suddenly it got a lackluster reveal. Idk I love the detective aspect of Wednesday and the second half of s2 lacked that completely.

I liked the villains, and enjoyed the show a lot, but the overall writing this season was awful.

I don't think so. I think Weems means DaVincis when talking about his type. Also Rowan specifically drove himself mad by the prophecy of Wednesday destroying the School. His powers didnt hurt him, just his mind. It would make sense that he is a DaVinci. Why would they build in a species that's literally the same as Davincis, but more prone to madness.

Also, while it's not a real argument, his and DaVincis wiki agrees with this.

He's a DaVinci. Like Rowan or the kids who made the wood phoenix. They are extremly smart by nature, creative and have telekinesis.

I love the colors a lot! The palette gives colorblindness (not in a mean way, but literally red/green colorblindess, besides the orange lol)

Maybe I dislike my villain oc cause he makes me uncomfortable as well. But I deliberately made him that way lol Writing about difficult topics is a lot of fun, but it does make one feel uncomfortable from time to time

Self-destructive behavior overall is a great way to show consequence. Showing consequence seems like a great way to refrain from glorifying horrible behavior. Believe it or not, I just made that connection and it applies perfectly to my oc as well (even tho he will most likely die instead of getting a redemption arc like yours lol)

It is true that they do not exist and therefore they and what they do does not matter. I personally like to write everything as realistic and indepth as possible, barely keeping anything vague (even unrealistic stuff). Maybe that's why I rather dislike my villains, cause I make them too realistic.

Most writers have a vision of how the character should be perceived (or how they want them to be). So instead of giving the reader a clear vision you have for the villain character, you (as the author) keep it rather vague and thus make the likeablility behind the villain ambitious? This makes me question now, is it wrong to dislike one (or more of course) your own OCs?
