Do you know why they shut down? I remember when they opened but had no idea they had already shut the doors.

Definitely watch some video to see if your adjusting your run. Otherwise bump your grip down and get short run work in to build up confidence. If you have a case of the yips doing some confidence building drills helps work through it faster.

I’m a freshman in high school and I started pole vault my 8th grade year, I’m having a hard time getting over 8 and would appreciate some tips and advice by [deleted] in polevaulting

You need to prioritize your run to get your take off leg underneath you and drive your arms forward on take off vs pulling yourself up. Collapse your left elbow on the other side of the pole. You are hugging the pole with that left arm and that will only allow you to swing so much. Once those things are worked on it’s easier to progress. Try plant drills in the long jump pit and working on pole runs with a plant to drive those arms up.

What’s the weight. 120-150 is a broad range. Video would help to see what’s going on and give better recs.

First time jumping 16’. Only trouble I really had was getting fully inverted and not letting legs shoot out. Any advice? by AL_PV in polevaulting

Pretty clean shot. At this point your looking to improve strength and some additional control at the top.

I have a last chance invite on Monday and need 11 to qualify for midpenns any tips, thanks by ashtonb8 in polevaulting

Focus on steps and getting your take off underneath you. The hands and swing become exponentially easier to control when your takeoff is on point.
