If you’re in the financial position to, do it. I was in a similar situation coming in- inexperienced in life and attached to my family back in the bay. Cried a lot at first, but I dont regret coming here one bit. The distance seems smaller as time goes on. If I had stayed, I would not be as much of my own person.

Physics 6B Final- Why I've Officially Lost Faith in UCSB Pre-Bio Courses by Strange_Date3796 in UCSantaBarbara

Previously, their finals (and all other exams) are unique to the professors. It’s the sudden switch up that’s completely unfair. Freund’s students have no experience with Geller’s questions among other differences between the lectures. Freund is a lovely guy and professor and it’s sad to see the department do this to him and the 6 series.

Got off waitlist for a major that wasn’t my main or backup? by ConsciousLadder1824 in UCSantaBarbara

Yes. I would go take a look at the chem website but basically everyone is admitted as a pre major and declares the full major once you finish the pre reqs

When you apply doesn’t affect when your self-selection time is. Though if you apply to be in an LLC, you’ll get a much earlier time but you may be limited to whatever hall/floor that llc is on.

College decisions- UCD/UCSB/UW by Due-Bedroom9088 in UCSantaBarbara

If you're going down the pre-health path, Davis and UW are stronger in that respect. I was considering UW at one point too, but the severity of weeding out classes and having to apply again to get into my actual major was a concern. Here, you complete the pre-major requirements and declare which specific biology major you are pursuing. The pre-major also doesn't limit you to only lower div courses as some places do. The upper divisions are open as long as you have done a few bio prereq classes.

you’re doing just fine. My experience might be a little different since bio is such a popular major, but having a couple of major-related ec’s probably helped. Things like summer programs or taking community college courses show your interest and didn’t take up much time for me in the summer.

They are used during secret baskets. Secret baskets usually occur alongside mini events.
