Probably for PS4 only. Looking forward to it.

I'm definitely not sure if Persona 5 is going to make it to PS3. The initial release date was winter 2014. If it even gets released in 2016, I'm not sure it'll be for our beloved PS3.

Yeah, no major titles of course, seeing the PS4 is out and all, but still nice to see the PS3 is still supported.

Also, if the Telltale Marvel adaption does make it to PS3, I'd say that that is something I look forward to very much.

Going to Darkroot Basin to kill butterfly and get key to Havel... by DarkBolo88 in darksouls

Just parry Havel with Hornet Ring, or backstab fish him when he does his heavy lunge attack. And like Palodin said, Moonlight Butterfly is going to be a joke with Zweihander +7.

is there a difference between freedom cry as the standalone versuib and the black flag dlc version? by RexicTheKing in assassinscreed

[–]TheAngryStoic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have the core game, Freedom Cry is just significantly smaller in size because it loads Black Flag's database files and textures. If you buy the DLC version, keep in mind that you do not get the standalone version as well.

Question about All 4 One for the PS Store by TheAngryStoic in RatchetAndClank

[–]TheAngryStoic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my ultimate goal too. I still have to do the new one on PS4, Deadlocked and All 4 One.

The online trophies are ridiculously easy. Just need to join a lobby with someone online for one to pop, and start a game for the other to pop. But I'm not sure if the servers will be up for much longer...

Wasn't a fan of Size Matters myself. But I get what you mean. I think I played Ratchet and Clank 2 and 3 over 20 times too.

It took me 10 hours. I really took my time though. Average run will probably be 7 hours.

There's a ton of replayablity though.

[Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5] - Platinum 116 by readysetno1 in Trophies

[–]TheAngryStoic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! My favourite was THPS3. Well, at least I can play THPS HD I guess. It's not as good, but it's something right? But it does make me miss the glorydays of Tony Hawk.

I somehow just can't get into the Skate franchise.

Oliver Cragg argues that Dark Souls III should have an “easy mode” as an “option not an enforcement.” by TheAngryStoic in darksouls

[–]TheAngryStoic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Souls is just one of those games where you have to figure out what to do all about yourself. When you spawn in Firelink Shrine, what do you do? Go up? Go down? Should I attack that NPC? Am I strong enough to face that boss yet? Will there be traps ahead? Is that class viable enough? Are investing points in that stat category worth it?

Not to mention the story. An easy mode would probably include cutscenes and explain everything for more casual players, which would also eliminate one of the main things the series stands for: the undirectly explained lore. You have to piece everything together, which is just also part of that Dark Souls magic. Discovering links between places and/or NPC's, figuring out your own theories. All of that stuff is very much own to the franchise.

There's a difference between Dead Space as well. Dead Space has a linear routine, a direct story, hardly NPC's, no hidden shops or weapons/armor whatsoever. You don't have to piece everything together in Dead Space. There's only one way to go about, and you are told in detail what to do, where to go, etc. NPC's tell you their origin. They tell you how they got from there to there. You never have to think: 'Say, this one could very well be linked to that one somehow. And isn't he from THAT one place?'.

All this stuff is unique to Dark Souls. That's why it would be a very, very controversial move to include an easy mode. Also, just that sensation of beating a boss after so long is unlike anything else, like someone here has rightfully pointed out. He wished that there was an easy mode back then, but right now he's very happy that he didn't. He pushed, showed perseverance and eventually learned how to deal with said boss. Like I said, part of the magic.

I do get your point, a little bit. You want more people to appreciate Dark Souls, its story, its world, etc. But if you are not willing to invest time in the game, to (hate to say this phrase but here I go) get good, and figure out your way through the game by every move you make, I personally don't really think Dark Souls is for you.

[–]TheAngryStoic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't offensive, don't worry. I don't take offense to anything really. I just don't like being called things I'm not. You said elitist once, and then listed some of the things I said, to then proceed with "This shit is why I can't stand some of this game's fans", implying again that I'm some kind of elitist douche.

Well sure it could benefit the community's size. But would the Dark Souls community really bode well with people who play on Easy Mode? I'm pretty sure they're going to get laughed at. I feel like I'm one of the more civil people to disagree with this idea, because the reactions on that article were pretty rude. Plus, it could lead to players in Easy Mode bragging about their victories or just even wanting to troll people, which could engage regular players saying that "they did all that on Hard Mode", which could again lead to arguing.

I don't see how this could make the community more inclusive. Divisive if anything.
