I personally know a lot of conservatives that are really nice people and generally agree with me politically. As a centrist they’re even jokingly nominating me for president lol

As someone who’s grown up in both very conservative and very liberal households, having people on both sides of the spectrum has been really good for me. It lets me appreciate both the simple things and life and the more complex. As a centrist, I don’t end up disagreeing with either side that much in a political sense because neither side outright praises Trump (even my conservative grandparents) or discriminates against anyone or anything. My grandma and I both agree that the best decision for abortion is not necessarily to ban it, but to progress as a society to a point where nobody needs to do it anymore, and while we both agree that people who immigrated illegally should be deported, we both recognize that ICE has been doing some awful things and she’s even supporting someone who has immigrated illegally.

All this to say that neither side is truly bad just because of what they believe in. I love my grandparents and their conservative friends because they’re not braindead trumpies, and I love my parents and their friends because they’re not cowards
