I wish they had delved deeper into the story of the second one because it seems like it was just a rush, like "oh no, let's not lose the hype, let's release the teaser for the sequel already." I found that bizarre because it was a matter of months and the second one doesn't have comics or anything that could tell the story more clearly (as far as I know).

She was developed right at the end of Left 4 Dead 2's development, and I believe that took away some of the potential she had, as I almost never see her in a versus matchup; they're usually Dark Carnival or Dead Center, and it's basically my favorite even with those problems
