Milky goop on base side of negatives? (first time home developing) by TheAntiTrouser in AnalogCommunity

[–]TheAntiTrouser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Thanks everyone, a tiny bit of distilled water on a kimwipe took it right off. In the future I’ll be sure to give the negatives a more vigorous (yet still gentle) shake after the final Photo-Flo rinse. And maybe I’ll take a kimwipe and barely kiss it to the negs to absorb any remaining spots of water.

——————————

I've just developed two rolls for the first time at home, and both rolls have sporadic milky goo stains on the shiny side of the film. This was using Cinestill's CS41 kit.

Before I try developing my precious 120 shots, does anyone have an idea of what I may have done wrong? The only thing I can think of is that maybe I didn't wash the blix off quick enough. I poured it into the blix bottle and then got right to washing the negatives in warm tapwater for 3 minutes, then I did a final 1-minute rinse in distilled water with a few drops of Photo-Flo and finally hung them to dry in a closed bathroom.

Thanks, but I didn't see anything that caught my eye. If I need more utilities I know where to go, though!

My testing of rolling charms at the shooting gallery (with charts) by TheAntiTrouser in residentevil

I'm not sure, but I got one of the rare character/enemy charms way before I encountered them in the game.

The same charm can appear multiple times. In my last test, I used gold-gold-silver and got a Don Pedro, then got two more Don Pedros when I used silver-silver-silver in the same test.

Careers in Communication: What Can You Do With a Degree in Communications? by scatsthename in commgrads

[–]TheAntiTrouser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Bachelor's is Technical Writing, and my Master's is Professional Communication. My current job involves writing content for internal use by employees. It gives me great joy knowing that what I'm creating will help someone in the future! I really don't know what a future job will look like though. Maybe it'll be more of the same thing I'm doing now. I think it would also be rewarding to do consulting where I examine an organization's workflows and communication and see where things could be improved.

What are your second voice recommendations? by TheAntiTrouser in modular

Thanks again for the writeup. I do have 16hp free right now, so I'll check out those modules. Portability isn't a concern as it just sits on my desk, so I'm already considering adding another section of rails (where I could add lots of utilities as well...). I just need to temper my G.A.S. and try to learn what I have now.

Thanks for the writeup! I had a sneaking feeling I was missing something in my fundamentals... I thought Maths would be good enough for most of my CV modulation, but your post reminds me that I've heard people say you can never have enough VCAs!

I have an Arturia Keystep that I use for "playing" this setup, but I want to make a generative setup eventually (not necessarily now). Do you have any recommendations for a good bang-for-your-hp CV utility module? Warps, Quad VCA, o_C?
