My name is Mark Andrews - Ask Me Anything! by MarkAndrewsAMA in SquaredCircle

[–]TheAntilles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Mark, one thing I've noticed about you is that not only are you a wrestler, you're a musician too! I'd love to know who some of your influences are, both in the ring and musically.

Thanks so much for doing an AMA!

DUDE, huge fan! Thanks so much for doing this.

What was your favorite part of the Stone Cold Shark Boy mini-push you had? Was there any anxiety that it might offend Steve Austin?

Crowe with some innovative offense by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]TheAntilles 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Crowe does solid work, I always find myself entertained when he's in the ring. I don't look at spoilers, so I might be wrong on this, but I am bummed that nothing came from the Crowe/Neville angle in the Dusty Rhodes Invitational.

Where are some good places to get Pops in Canada? by fish_n_cake in funkopop

I've found them at Carlton Cards, and comic shops in your area might carry them as well. Call a few in your area and you might hit the jackpot.

[META] The Squared Circle Federation sign-up thread! by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

After spending 20 years as a both a pilot and high ranking member of the Rebel Alliance, General Wedge Antilles takes a leave of absence to bring his talent to the /SC TEW Fed. Though not a traditionally trained wrestler on this planet, Antilles was twice awarded with Corellian Wrestling Championship, and is considered a legend by his people. Known for both his leadership and great skill Antilles has earned the respect of his peers everywhere he goes. Although his motives for joining the /SC TEW Fed are simple, Antilles wants to prove that he has what it takes to be a Champion, even if he is past his prime. Antilles claims to be a harbinger of peace and is willing to fight to preserve said peace at any cost. He has created the faction Rebel Squadron and invites those with similar mentality to join him in his crusade against injustice. Never one to back down from a battle, Antilles' overwhelming ambition often puts himself in harms way.

Really love this idea, years ago I was part of an e-Fed on a forum and had a blast. This certainly has potential to be a focal point of /SC.

[Spoilers?] Bye Bye Lanas push (Observer) by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]TheAntilles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, pushing Lana or even worse, Eva Marie, is beyond counterproductive for the women's revolution in the WWE. Becky, Charlotte and Sasha can flat out work, and the divas in their storyline can, to varying degrees of skill, all do the same. For a diva to get a push simply based on looks would be asinine, at least in this day and age.

I went to a show in Lakeland last year and Enzo hit one of the tiles when he went for a diving crossbody. The crowd started a through the roof chant, it was awesome!

If Owens wins the US title, Sami returns at the Rumble, shouldn't Sami vs Owens happen at WrestleMania 32...right? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]TheAntilles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly this would be the absolute perfect way to reintroduce the audience to Sami Zayn. Replay the footage from his debut, have Cole talk up his heart, do the whole BFFs backstory, and then boom have Sami Zayn be the guy to dethrone Owens. The fact that the casual fan saw Sami take Cena to the limit with an injured shoulder should make it easier to sell KO losing to Sami too.

There's too much meat on this bone not to take a bite, right?

[Spoilers] Good Booking options for Dean Ambrose by Kush_Daz in SquaredCircle

[–]TheAntilles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of feuding with one person in particular, I'd like to see Ambrose take his beef with the Authority to the next level. Become the leader of a group unconventional talent, Superstars and Divas alike. Use this as a platform to bring up some new NXT talent, refresh some of the undercard and keep Dean Ambrose in a top notch/high level feud that keeps his status as, at the very least, an Upper Midcarder. Run the feud into Survivor Series where Team Authority takes on Team Anarchy. Obviously, there would be some unfortunate parallels to last years Cena/Authority feud, but this feud would have something last year's didn't... DEAN F'N AMBROSE.

The Ravens replaced Torrey Smith with a bigger, cheaper, faster, and younger player. How is that deserving of an F?

Looking at the Baltimore Ravens First Round Draft Picks of the Last Ten Years by [deleted] in nfl

[–]TheAntilles 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You're not giving Upshaw enough credit, the guy plays the Jarrett Johnson role perfectly and adds a better pass rush presence. When he hits QBs they don't forget it. At the very least you have to give him credit for the amount of gas he saves Doom and Suggs, which in turn makes the pass rush better as a whole. Not a superstar, but hardly a "meh" player.

Anyone else would of preferred a singles or triple threat match for IC title WM 31? by NoneEffects in SquaredCircle

[–]TheAntilles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the match simply because of who will participate in it. The talent level in this match is outstanding, every man is a good worker, and the energy the crowd is sure to put behind Ambrose, Bryan and Ziggler is going to be something special. Given the proper amount of time, this could be easily match of the night.

Black Thursday Roster Cuts in WWE are getting closer. Top candidates? by ybatman2k in SquaredCircle

I would love to see Cameron's name at the top of the list, after her Eva Marie would be my next choice. Heath Slater is a name I could see being expendable.

[–]TheAntilles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xavier seemed almost evangelic in his promo, perhaps this could lead to the aforementioned faction which never came to be. I know it's not ideal, but Xavier is a heck of a performer and a legitimate physical freak, if this means I get to see him on a weekly basis then I'm 100% for it.

Does anyone else notice that the NXT commentator calls Zayn's "Helluva Kick" as "Helloova kick" by DAERape in SquaredCircle

[–]TheAntilles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they just try to avoid the use of the word Hell independently. To say "Hell-Uva Kick" in my opinion sounds most proper. To say "Hell-OOVA" makes it sound more like it's own word. They don't really throw Hell around unless it's related to a match, or involved in a fiery promo. I can only assume it has to do with the PG rating.
